I Do Not Get The Low Scores (by racerdex) |
It is a kid flick and it is fantasy. My kids sat still, got scared and then were happy about the happy ending . Additionally, my wife and I were able to sit through without resorting to speaking to each other, out of ennui. Overall, these are the qualities of a good kid's movie, perhaps as it is viewed through mature eyes. No need to troll. It is simply another opinion. Hopefully, no heads exploded for it. |
The audience cried and applauded - a film for anyone ready to open their heart (by ilmffutyfl) |
The man to the left of me cried, the woman to the right of me cried. We applauded when the film ended, our hearts feeling moved and lifted. This movie does not deserve the 1/10 scores that it is receiving. Do not be fooled by these reviews. Weeks before the film came out, people vented their anger about it in the comments section of a NY Times article on it. They were afraid of a darker skinned female lead - not staying true to its source material, they claim. It is this kind of fear that the film challenges us to see and understand before it consumes us. This story is not about skin color, <more> |
Ignore the Trolls, go see this! (by GSterneman) |
I went into this movie as a big fan of the book. I intentionally didn't reread the book beforehand. This movie captured everything I remembered about this amazing tale. What changes there were from the book were done to aid in the translation of medium. The costumes, effects, and performances were all top notch. Don't let the trolls sway you. This movie is amazing. |
LOVE this film! (by collegedude-37028) |
Why are people hating on this film? imdb is showing an average user rating of 3 out of 10? REALLY?? Not only was this film gorgeous, but it kept most of the story in tact and translated the lessons and morality from the book to the screen perfectly. There was one plot hole I noticed but I was able to look past that because I was just having so much fun. |
A Wonderful Reminder (by downthehobbitholeblog) |
We really enjoyed watching this movie! Following Meg on her adventure through the universe to find her father and discover the power within herself was a wonderful adventure. It was also a great reminder that we are worthy just the way we are. This is a great movie to go see with your pre-teens and teens! If you want a discussion guide to use afterwards we have one up on our blog now. Yes, there were differences from the book. But I was not expecting it to be exactly like the book and I was not disappointed. Yes, there were some Christian pieces of the book watered down- but I still saw God <more> |
Why all the bad reviews?! (by solearybrown-1) |
I loved this movie. I recently re-read the book and of course they changed a few things but that always happens. The book is very dark and I was happy that Disney left it creepy, dark and sad. The little guy who played Charles Wallace was great. |
Dont trust critics, movie lives up to the 60's book! (by gq0025) |
Critics and a lot of viewers don't understand the concept of this story, and most of them didn't read the book. A Wrinkle in Time was a good movie, and a love letter to young girls everywhere, specifically young black girls. I enjoyed the movie, I though it was beautiful and thought provoking. The visuals were excellent, and it was a fun movie to watch with the family. Its definitely worth watching especially if you read the book. |
Beautiful and Meaningful (by gamoradianastar) |
I loved the book this movie is based on and I found this movie to be a wonderful adaptation. Everything about this movie is fantastic. From the acting to the costumes, this movie did such a good job of taking the beloved classic and putting it on the big screen. Miss Ava and her crew should be proud. |
Great but had its flaws (by conner-36576) |
The movie was magnificent although the acting was not very good. especially charles wallace's. and the green screen magic was not the best |
