Two Thumbs Up! Must see movie of 2018 (by eflemingstudent) |
A masterpiece of epic proportions. Two thumbs way up! Go see it people. |
A refreshing end-of-summer breeze. (by Carycomic) |
While everybody else is going to see the "been-there-done-that" MEG or the hyper-violent MILE 22 aka the poor man's MI: FALLOUT , I went to see A.X.L. And, despite being the only one in the movie theater, I found it quite enjoyable! Sort of a cross between ALPHA and E.T. with a little bit of TRANSFORMERS thrown in for good measure. Alex Neustaedter as Miles Hill is essentially a 21st century Elliot. Only, instead of being the middle child in a broken home, he's the only son of a one-time-dirt-bike-racer-turned-widower mechanic following in his father's tread marks. And, <more> |
AWESOME! (by scarnightmare) |
I loved the robot dog and human interaction! I loved this movie. Where you ended it made me feel like it was a cliffhanger, are you making a another one? Where he builds an out her dog himself then axels files can be sent to the robot! |
Great family movie! (by sunya-68349) |
We loved this movie! I took my 8 and 11 yr old boys and we loved it! Great action and suspense without being bloody and vulgar. There are not many movies for older children without cursing, sex and blood. |
Original (by peteiow-1) |
Personally I thought the acting was good, no big names but the cast did a fine job with a creative plot. Yeah it wasn't top Hollywood financed but was well made and enjoyable to watch. Great idea for a film and well acted with pretty good cgi.Worth a watch. |
Reeeeeeeeeally hope they make a 2nd as good or better than the 1st! (by paindweller) |
This had a few cringe worthy flaws yet the remainder of the film was so good, there wasn't too much cgi to ruin the film and it had a sort of natural/genuine feel to it that kept me captivated. I liked the fact that everything wasn't perfect or fluid which makes the scenes unreal, there was a sort of old school edge mixed with the modern that made this a hit. Definitely recommend. |
Everybody's movie, quite tense, sad, a little bit Sci Fi (by jeannefrancoise) |
Dear movie freaks, for me AXL is not 100% Sci Fi movie because the touch of the drama is so high, then the main story of what happened to a young boy finding a super secret military weapon, apparently in the body shape of a dog, could find a way to escape from the law and highly officials. This movie has simple story, but evolved in some scenes to be more intense with young audience, especially Sci Fi lover. At least, there is several scenes that explain the Sci Fi part, but the whole idea is not science at all. It is totally drama, but AXL is everybody's movie, quite tense, and sad. The <more> |
Exellent! (by ladykymaaera) |
The robotic dog ,human dynamic is genuine. And very much in line with how we as humans would wish to interact with a super dog powered by A. I. It is good. No surprise twists, but for a man dog movie worth seeing |
