Jim Carrey is Back All the Way! (by strain6) |
Fun with Dick and Jane is an excellent film. Forget about those laugh-getters, George Segal and Jane Fonda. This is an excellent movie and very funny. Jim is back. This is the Jim Carrey of The Mask, Dumb and Dumber and Ace Ventura. The movie isn't a string of gags. It is well-structured. The supporting characters are funny and very important, not the anchors Jim has been obliged to heft in some of his recent films. Tea Leoni, as in wow! How many actresses would allow their pretty faces to be tampered with. Alec Baldwin is fantastic in this. If Siskel were alive, he'd have to eat a <more> |
Excellent movie. Good mix of humor and moral content. (by markjohnsonii) |
This movie has a good mix of typical Jim Carey humor with some modern day adult issues that many Americans can relate to. There is plenty of serious points in the movie to suggest the director wanted to reach adult audiences more-so than a younger crowd who can not identify much of the issues brought fourth in the movie. Tei and Jim are a great pair, and play their parts splendidly. The setting is such that they could be living and working in any major suburb across the US. The plot is very real to anyone that has worked for a big company and has moved up the corporate ladder. The fears, and <more> |
amazing movie (by sjsmart1) |
My daughter took me to see this movie. At first i thought that it was going to be just like every other movie, but i was proved wrong. I loved this movie. To me it was the best movie that Jim Carey ever stared in. I loved this movie because it explains to me and the world that no matter of how big of a pickle you are in you will always be able to get out of it. I thank Jim Carey and all of the other actors that participated in this movie because i think that it proves a good point. No matter what pickle you are in you can always solve it. When this movie comes out on DVD i will be sure to buy <more> |
Good Job, Jim Carey (by anna2) |
I saw this movie in a preview screening and I laughed so hard that I had a headache by the end. I am really glad that Jim Carey has finally found a balance between his physical comedy and things that are actually comedic. The supporting cast was also excellent. Alec Baldwin was very good at being a character whom the viewer would love to hate. The story line was interesting and fast moving. It was a spot of light shining on the sad times that followed all of the financial ruin at the beginning of this decade. Although the movie was only about an hour and a half long, it did not feel short at <more> |
"Fun" with Dick...and Jane (by Trinity3777) |
I'm a huge Jim Carrey fan; I've found with most people that you are or you aren't. If you aren't a Carrey fan than this film may not be for you...I was very anxious for this film to come out once I heard it was in production; however, after I saw a couple of reviews on TV it appeared to be another clichéd holiday flick that featured a toned down version of Carrey.I made sure to keep my hopes low for this film just in case Carrey was not in pure form; however, I was delightfully surprised. Carrey lights up the screen once again with his zany antics and rubberface slapstick <more> |
Jim Carrey Does It Once Again!!!! (by MovieManiacX) |
Let me start off by saying that Jim Carrey is my favorite comedian, hands down. He can make ANYTHING funny, with his crazy facial expressions and gangly flailing limbs. If you don't find Jim Carrey funny I really can't see why some people don't , you probably won't find the movie funny. It's that simple.Onto the review! Jim Carrey shines here like he does in everything else as Dick Harper. Carrey being the everyman that he is, he slides right into the role. His manic insanity is ever-present, especially in a scene where he has to literally chase down a customer he <more> |
Fits to Everyone's Humor (by waxmaid) |
This movie can make everyone laugh. It has a wide variety of types of humor. Jim Carrey does a wonderful job. The humor makes references to all sorts of real life situations. The movie had me grinning the entire time, and laughing half the time. The boy playing Billy Harper was wonderful! The couple curse words were very little and far between. It was even part of the humor. If you never watched the original as I haven't you will be surprised at points. It never lost my attention, something was always about to happen. You would be waiting for something to happen, then something totally <more> |
possible classic (by sineadthecolabottle) |
Dick and Jane are in love and living the American dream--until one day it becomes an American nightmare. When the company Dick works for becomes involved in an Enron-like scandal and he takes the rap, Dick and Jane are forced with the prospect of losing everything. After playing by the rules and getting burned, Dick has an idea: If stealing was good enough for his boss, then it's good enough for him. Using his newfound skills, he and Jane decide to exact hilarious revenge and teach big business a lesson. Jim Carrey steals the show once more, but Téa Leoni fails in her attempt to live up <more> |
Fast & Funny (by jax713) |
Jim Carrey is hard to beat in a role like this. He looks like the all American yuppie - tall, clean shaven, well dressed, and in control of his life - and his comedic delivery has been refined into a polished riff. All is believable when he lets loose because you know this is a guy who has a great sense of humor and he can get you to laugh until you lose your breath without grossing you out or making you groan at absurd silliness. Even while prancing or jabbing the air or contorting his face, Carrey is - hands down - the sexiest comedian on screen today. Tea Leoni is a good match for him <more> |
