Bill Murray is perfect as Gafield! The live action movie is excellent! (by Movie Nuttball) |
Garfield, The live action feature film has finally arrived and its a great film! It stars Bill Murray, Stephen Tobolowsky, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Breckin Meyer! I thought the creators did a fabulous job on this movie! Garfield looks like a real cat in My opinion. I am so amazed how real he looks and his appearance is very close like he was in the comic strip and cartoons! Murray performed very well as the voice of the fat cat! In fact, I think it was a very wise choice because Lorenzo Music was the original voice of Garfield and plus he was the voice of Murray's Peter Venkman in the <more> |
Pretty Good Considering the Low Budget (by ILuvPrincessDiaries2) |
The First time I watched this my whole family was really sick so it was a pretty good pick-me-up especially for a little kid. We enjoyed watched it I think mostly because we don't rent movies very much. I didn't think Garfiled was that bad for animation, in fact even my brother who is usually commenting through-out the whole film on how bad and good this was or wasn't compared to such and such, thought Garfiled was pretty close to Garfield in the comic strip. I love this movie because it doesn't require you to think. It's very straight forward. I thought "Odie" <more> |
Garfield: not like the cartoon, but very cute (by eternalbutterfly) |
I thought Garfield was a fun, up-to-date, too cheesy to be real-life depiction of the cartoon that captured us for so long. It's not the humorous kicking-Odie-off-the-table laughs that we had in the cartoon, but it's fun, light-hearted, and adventurous. Garfield, although mean to Odie, has a soft spot for him. Jon still struggles to win the love of Liz, and everyone has room to fill their characters. Although we don't see as much interaction between Garfield's thoughts and Jon's vocal communication, as we did in the cartoons, they coincide their actions in other ways. This <more> |
Why not? (by spazjen27) |
Well let me see it's been a while since I watched this... so... First of all, I had not heard ANYTHING one way or another about this movie so I decided to watch this because I LIKE MOVIES. And I LOVE Garfield. So I see so many negative comments about this movie, OK everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But I had to step up to defend this. I LOVED this movie. It was not great in that Odie was not... well... Odie... and yes there were a few other things, but I just don't care. I don't know about anyone else, but I myself do not judge a movie because it's not what I think <more> |
9!!! (by JenniferNoble) |
i really don't understand why people are so negative about this movie. i saw it 3 times now and i still have to laugh. okay, i admit that its not the best story ever, but this is some kind of movie you go to, and come back from with a smile on your face. in the end, isn't that what its all about??? the cat is adorable, funny, cute and fat. The dog is cute too and we have some great actors in it: breckin meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt.Don't forget the voice of Bill Murray and also there's nice music, think of hey mama from Black eyed peas. so what are you waiting for? go! stand <more> |
Cute and harmless -- you expected something different? (by lionhart7) |
This movie delivered everything that could be expected. If you are familiar with the comic strip, this movie is a very good representation. It isn't a gut splitter, it doesn't have Oscar written on it, but it is a cute little diversion. Some of the negative complaints surprise me, they sound like they didn't know what to expect...did people think they were going to see "Monsters Ball" or "Kill Bill 2"? It's Garfield, folks. If you can't see yourself flipping through a book of Garfield strips without getting bored or annoyed, I don't know what would <more> |
You'll Never Wished You Owned A Ginger Tom More (by blood-8) |
Garfield was a superb movie. The plot may not stretch anyone intellectually, but the characterisation of Garfield more than compensates. The animation of Garfield is stunning and you would have to look very hard and very closely to see any inconsistencies exept perhaps when someone is "holding" Garfield . And if you find any then that must be why you were watching the movie anyway. It must have been difficult, to say the least, for humans to interact with a character that wasn't there, but the way they have managed to get real animals to interact with Garfield is magical. Great Summer Kids' Movie (by rapidyh) |
Our seven year old son has read our collection of Garfield comics, and waited months for this movie. He loved it! Our children and the other children in the theater yelled, "Kitty, Kitty" whenever they saw Garfield. Bill Murray played Garfield perfectly. Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt played their straight lines subtly and well. The plot was fine, too. This movie is not an adult crossover like "Finding Nemo", but is a well done children's movie. We will recommend this movie to our friend with a three year old. The only objectionable part is the use of a shock <more> |
