A surreal and somewhat brutal action/comedy that is for some but not for everyone. Read more. (by blaynebittner) |
First off, there are violent deaths in the movie. There is a lot of graphic violence, but it isn't overdone for the style of movie it is. When we see someone try to shoot for their head and miss, instead hitting the neck, it shows it as an example. The beautiful thing about this action comedy is that it takes influences from Quentin Tarantino and cult classics such as Ravenous when it comes to the brutality of the action. However, there are no torture scenes for the sake of torture. While the brutal action is not for some, it is equal in the level of gore to movies such as the Die Hard <more> |
Made me laugh and somehow oddly captivating (by zmail-77704) |
This movie really should be better known as it contains some absolutely brilliant acting and direction with a story that unfolds in a very twisted way that is oddly captivating. From the very beginning you'll be rather mystified as to what is going on but you'll gradually get a glimmer of understanding as each time shifted scene unfolds. There's one thread that holds out right until the end and it's this that will keep you glued to the screen.Even so this movie doesn't take itself too seriously, wrapping up the twists and turns with a tongue-in-cheek poke at the <more> |
Simon Pegg. As a hit-man. (by mjktoys) |
No, really. Simon Pegg as a hit-man - Charles Wolfe. It's kind of a light Aussie-American Tarantino film mash up. Think Reservoir Dogs meets Hot Fuzz, but not really. Other reviews are so-so, me personally? I dug it. I was tinkering with some PC's with this on in the background and then it turned into me watching this and occasionally playing with the PCs. Not bad. It has a slightly over saturated visual style mainly in all the outside establishing shots. The soundtrack wasn't intrusive nor very memorable. If you watch the first seven minutes or so, you pretty much have the tone <more> |
Engaging, insightful and fulfilling (by Raven-1969) |
A compulsive gambling man-child of a dentist, indifferent and strangely philosophical hit-man, plucky yet unlucky surfer girl, scheming and invasive chief of police, jealous and possessive playboy husband, studly yet brain-dead mechanic, money-grubbing Lady Macbeth of an administrative assistant, and beautiful, moonlit strands of Australian ocean shorelines, combine in this enthralling, dark and loopy comedy. Each of the incompatible and mismatched characters wants what the others have, and cannot see that they may have enough inside and around themselves. "I am sick and tired of having <more> |
A good crime comedy ! (by clibetta) |
I do not understand why this title has so low rates. I have to admit I am a big fan of Simon Pegg that in this movie is great, but beside that this movie deserve a watch and it's really entertaining. The cast is good and the plot is nice and if you ever wonder why crime doesn't always pay....well you must watch it.Location, music and the overall direction is perfect for the plot but the most intriguing part is the way it's designed, with the beginning telling the end even the title.. and the point of view from different angles and times.OK it's the same old story since <more> |
Movies fun don't be a critique and just enjoy (by qwk22) |
Too many people are trying to critique "Kill Me Three Times", its not the Godfather or Scarface, just watch the movie and enjoy. I believe it was well put together and had some funny moments. A lot questionable situations occurred but nothing too far out of the realm of possibility I say. Enjoy the Murphy's's law of which is the film story line.I need ten lines of info, so I going to ramble on nothing in particular. The movie was good, people are trying to decipher the movie too much instead of just watching and enjoying. Have to say I loved Simon Pegg and his role he <more> |
