A must-watch for anyone geeky at heart (by amosref) |
I was extremely lucky to attend the world premiere! The screening was held at the "Icon" festival sort of the Israeli version of comic-con in Tel-Aviv, Israel. The screening began at midnight on the night of Sep. 24-25 2013. The movie was introduced by one of the producers. She got on stage, said a few words about the film and then dropped the bomb on all of us - This was the world premiere! The theater ERUPTED! Clapping and hooting for a good 2 minutes before she could keep on talking. What can I say? It was a theater packed with geeks and everyone went wild! the film is <more> |
Fun Movie! (by nanthoral-572-647195) |
Saw this in the theatre at a showing organized by a local LARP chapter. The crowd was having a great time with the movie, laughing out loud and cheering when called for . The energy in there was almost half the experience. The rest was the move itself. Lots of laughs, great acting, and a ridiculous premise really sold me on this. You can really tell that the actors had fun with the movie. None of them seemed like they were forced to be there or looked like they'd made a terrible mistake by signing a contract You know the kind of movie I'm talking about .For how long it took this movie <more> |
A wonderful experiment turned reality, finally (by domo112) |
Everyone knows one of those projects that take a long time to make and you are constantly watching the news and websites for a little more news on it.It was the same with KoB, but instead of it being still in development, everyone was waiting for a release. And it came, and verily; it was amazing. The music, the special effects, the plot line and the story were all under par for your average Hollywood movie of course, but the whole of it, how it all played together, made a movie which should have seen a bigger release and a bigger audience.I predict that this will turn into a cult movie. Fun for some (by oneseraph) |
If you are clever or a gamer, maybe you have an advanced topical sense of humor, if so watch this movie and enjoy. If you are equipped for it this movie is a lot of fun. Definitely worth watching, so pop some corn grab a drink and tuck in.For those who lack wit, you should probably avoid watching this movie. You will be disappointed because the funny parts will go over your head. Additionally the campy parts are the sort that only thoughtful people find interesting, witty or cheesy in the right or better yet "wrong" way.Long and short of it is this movie is not for everyone. Fun "B" movie full of A-List actors (by a-loyal) |
Going into this with the full expectation that it's a low-budget comedy that constantly over-reaches, I was pleasantly surprised to find a good handful of laughs and absolutely amazing acting by Peter Dinklage. I wasn't expecting high quality special effects or props, so the quality actually turned out better than I expected. The end battle was all that I hoped for and more, leaving me with only the thought, "this is bad-ass!"I do think that Summer Glau's role was a bit smaller than it should have been and that her character was not as developed as I would have preferred. <more> |
This is quite possibly one of the single most stupidest films I have ever seen - I loved every minute of it! (by totalovrdose) |
Where many films attempt to not be geeky, dorky or lame, Knights of Badassdom embodies these negative traits to become an incredibly fun adventure. The dialogue will often cause you to raise an eyebrow; the characters will leave you shaking your head in disbelief, and the special effects are really not that special, but what makes this film so unique in contrast to others which fail miserably, is that Knights of Badassdom is deliberate in its ridiculous hilarity.Joe Ryan Kwanten has recently had his heart torn asunder by the astoundingly beautiful Beth Margarita Levieva . In a vain attempt <more> |
Enjoyable, entertaining (by poopjuggler) |
Do you people ever just watch a movie and enjoy it without analyzing the crap out of it? I thought this movie was fun and entertaining, despite it not being THE GRAETEST MOVIE EVAR MADE. "Oh no, the effects aren't perfect." "Waah.. they didn't have a $100million budget" "OMFG there's a plot hole in the 23rd minute of the 2nd act!!" I keep seeing reviews that say "Oh, I was EXPECTING such and such, and it didn't deliver". Stop creating expectations based on a 2-minute trailer. Just try watching a movie for fun and turn off your brain... <more> |
First 90% had a solid flow, cast had great chemistry and the story was light-hearted while catching you off guard (by Tyrione) |
It's a sarcastic, solid cult style Evil Dead 2 dry humor, with great banter throughout.Every actor enjoyed themselves and it comes through in the film.Great cast that everyone already knows, with solid chemistry. Nothing forced. If you're a fan of the 60s Godzilla flicks with an over-sized and classic style creature, mixed with a Saturday the 13th tongue firmly in cheek on a low budget then you'll embrace the climax. If you can swallow the fantasy laced use of Sir John Dee's magnum opus being artistically lifted for a completely different purpose, then you'll really <more> |
Exactly what I wanted/expected it to be. (by anthonymarlen) |
I struggle to understand how anyone could be disappointed by their experience after viewing this charming geek service. Could anyone possibly settle in for this motion picture viewing with a closed mind? It is titled "Knights Of Badassdom" after all.Is this a perfect movie? Nope. Our villains are cold and under-developed. Some challenge in our enjoyment arises due to CGI effects that get off to a much weaker start than the SFX events that follow. And I'd be lying if I said that I didn't have feelings of reluctance when embarking on another film involving a handsome <more> |
