fantastic! The cast is brilliant and I laughed out loud at least 20 times Even though on this page it doesn't say that the movie is actually a comedy - it totally is! . People were even clapping and cheering at many key moments. The feeling in the room was electric. We don't know which cut we got to see though, but it didn't feel too long - just right, in fact. Peter Dinklage is wonderful as usual and Summer Glau's performance - she was was fantastic. She is every geek's wet dream of course.. But she really delivered the whole "I'm not really into this but I'm playing along with it" role. She looked amazing in her costume! Her on screen chemistry with the other characters was excellent. She is definitely one of the underrated actresses out there.The film itself has some great plot twists and even though it had a very low budget - it manages to escape the feel of a B-movie. It even had some pretty good CGI animation. At the end everyone was clapping and as I walked out of the theater, feeling giddy - EVERYONE was smiling, laughing, reminiscing and all in all I didn't hear a single person saying anything negative about it. The only reason this film gets a 9 is because a 10 is reserved for maybe 5- 10 movies in my life. If you are a geek, were a geek, or simply have a little bit of geekyness in you - don't hesitate when it is released - it's worth every penny! Go with friends who appreciate this kind of stuff. I was never much of a role-playing fan and still felt completely connected to this film. Well done!!

to come out, it really pulled through.If you're looking for something that takes itself seriously, or maybe has a deeper side to it, this probably isn't what you're looking for.If you're looking for a FUN movie to watch with a group of friends, I'd definitely recommend it.I will be watching this again for sure.

movie requires the viewer to bring a thoughtful and informed mind. Unfortunately not everyone has one of those, as a result not everyone will be able to enjoy this movie equally.

The truth is, none of the characters were very deep and the story had very little background, but none of that seemed to detract from the likability of the characters or hurt the humor.Not for everyone, this movie seems to be a "love it or hate it" movie, much like Tenacious D. In fact, if you liked that movie, you'll probably like Knights of Badassdom.

to ensure Joe does not spend the entirety of the weekend lounging around in a depressed state, his friends Hung played by the always entertaining Peter Dinklage and Eric Steve Zahn , after a night of drugs and alcohol, force him to attend their Live Action Role Play LARP event, held on the battlefield of Evermore, which is really not as prestigious as it sounds. However, things go dramatically awry when Joe's friends attempt a spell to have him get over his lost love, and instead inadvertently summon a bloodthirsty succubus. Safe to say, if Joe thought he was in Hell upon arrival at the LARP, he didn't know the meaning of the word.Having never spent a day of his life LARPing, Joe slowly discovers the many rules involved, which assists those in the audience who are new to such an experience as well. Over the course of the event, we are introduced to a number of fantastic characters, including Gwen played by the gorgeous Summer Glau, whose beauty, if ranked between 1 and 10 would be an 87 and her brother, Gunther Tom Hopper , however it is quite possibly Ronnie Jimmi Simpson who often steals the show with his pretentiously over-exaggerated antics.The acting during the feature is fantastic, each of the characters appearing to have a whale of a time. This is especially due to the dialogue, the characters having to often speak in a variation of old English and made up medieval slang in an attempt to bring an essence of realism to the fantasy game. The writing is outstandingly witty, albeit on many an occasion, outrageously unbelievable, and although each of the characters share in a number of great lines, for much of the film, Joe is potentially the least amusing, until much later, when he becomes the soul of the film.The heavy metal soundtrack does at the beginning seem a little out of place, but by the end, it brilliantly fits in with the combat scenarios, and will probably leave you shaking your head back and forth as though you had a make believe bass guitar in your hand.In conclusion, this film is an ocean of blood, gore, coarse language and sexual references, bound to make you laugh, sigh, and often wish you were there.

This movie is actually pretty funny if you know LARPers. Summer Glau is super-hot, as always. I really enjoyed how they would build up mega-drama with the music and dialoge, and then turn it off instantly and it's back to Nerdville -- I thought that was clever. Make some popcorn and watch this, just make sure to take the stick out of your arse first..

chuckle along with all the LARP and AD&D references someone who grew up in AD&D at its height of fame.Script is solid and surprising, especially how many red-shirted crewmen eat it.With all that, the Giant Trollish think Asian Monkey Kingdom meets the Cold Troll on TV that gets sprung actually fits.It doesn't take itself serious and throughout the film that turns into someone biting it.Hope it gets at least a full DVD release and perhaps a mid-level release into theaters.I got what I expected and more. Well worth the $10.Seeing the Premiere in Spokane where it was filmed and listening to many who worked on the film was an added bonus, tonight at its Spokane Premiere.And yes, Summer Glau doesn't seem to age, is great in the film along with everyone you see in the official trailer.Solid F/X for the budget this film must have had.I enjoyed this film tenfold more than that pile remake of The Evil Dead.

And the idea of being a handsome protagonist who is plucked into an adventure, gets the girl and saves the day by any sort of unusual means is every geeks dream. I know that Summer Glau has a tough time being relatable, even human at points used to her being a robot or killing machine . But I'll be damned if she isn't pleasure to behold in every appearance she makes. And to avoid being long-winded, Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn and Jimmi Simpson are as entertaining and believable as ever.The toughest conclusion I've had to make on this film has been whether it is a B movie. If it is, it is one of the most enjoyable B movies this reviewer has ever seen. Simply put, you should see this flick if your brain has the propensity to read and understand a title like "Knights Of Badassdom".Hope this helps.
