RYDE...My new favorite thriller!!! (by stephaniechm) |
A captivating and scary thriller set in modern day Los Angeles, follows a night of "Paul" played by the chiseled and handsome David Wachs, as he morphs from a boyishly good looking EMT by day, into a murdering sociopath by night. His intense performance kept me on the edge of my seat the entire movie and reminded me of Christian Bales brilliance in American Psycho. The slick satire cleverly equates materialism, narcissism and misogyny with homicide. The movies cinematography was beautifully done and elegantly shot. I found myself entranced in the driving scenes, set amongst the <more> |
Excellent horror! (by borakvaka) |
If you are looking for a great nighttime horror flick this is a highly recommended movie for you! Unlike many horrors, its script is not filled with cliché jump scenes, but it is a very cleverly written story, beautifully directed by Frank Visciglia. There is a lot of suspense that will keep you at the edge of your seat, and I must mention the music which accompanies the movie perfect. I loved the acting, the young actors did a good job, especially Jessica Serfaty whose portrayal of Jessica was powerful and convincing. Overall I would recommend it to all the horror fans looking for a <more> |

I'm not one for horror movies but RYDE looked pretty interesting! So glad I decided to go because I loved it...here's why..The cinematography was absolutely beautiful...you felt as though you were right in the midst of every location...it was breath taking! The music score was a driving force through out the entire movie. It was in sync with every scene bringing so much excitement and emotion to the viewer. The character Paul played by David Wachs a troubled young man with a dark side to him. His youthful and handsome look and his chiseled face says you really can't judge a book by <more> |
Good premise, great execution (by internetservicem) |
I saw the trailer of the movie and it looked interesting, so I gave this movie a chance and watched it in a theater. The movie didn't disappoint, it was a joy rYde from start to finish! Its story is original, which I really appreciate as a horror movies fan; it was executed beautifully. The actors were unknown to me, but they did a good job in portraying the characters. Their acting is believable and I hope that David Wachs will start getting bigger roles in Hollywood. There were some decent scares in the movie and overall, it was a great popcorn flick so I left a theater satisfied. |
A good one! (by michaelpearmen) |
As a huge horror genre fan, I have really enjoyed watching this little movie. It is not yet another predictable horror with lots of clichés, but an original flick that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. The story of the movie is authentic, with very effective sound effects and music. I liked its main characters which were portrayed really good from the relatively unknown actors. The direction is spot on and I can't wait to see some more work from the same director. |
Exciting and Intense (by signsandlogos-54896) |
My husband and I heard and read about all the hype regarding the movie RYDE. So we decided to rent it at Redbox. I have read the reviews on this site so let me just say I am not affiliated with anyone connected to this movie. First we loved the cinematography, the scenes through Los Angelos were breath taking the way it was shot. The music score kept the movie moving through out. We loved it!!!!! The lead actor David Wachs as Paul did not disappoint us in anyway. His continued performance as the Psyco serial killer which reminded us of Christian Bale in American Psyco only David Wachs' <more> |
A pleasant surprise (by demigodx) |
I went into this movie with reserved expectation, because I hadn't seen any previous work of this director and the actors were unknown to me. I was surprised by the top quality of their performance and the movie was interesting enough to make me wanting for more. The cinematography, editing, sound are all excellent significantly boosting the value of such a small budget movie. Ryde is new ride share service app on the market and the movie is about a guy with sinister intentions, who hijacked someone elses car and pretends to be a highly reputable rYder. I don't wanna give away too <more> |

Worth Watching this Movie (by johnsonvara) |
I have to admit, when I first saw the trailer for Ryde, I wasn't expecting much. I was wrong. Ryde is a solid and enjoyable serial killer horror film that works due the intense performance and brutal physicality of David Wachs as the killer. He comes off like your average guy before showing his dark side, which comes on rather suddenly and goes just as quickly, showing that his normal, calm demeanor is just a mask that covers the monster inside. There isn't a whole lot of plot to speak of, as the movie is mostly Wachs' character driving around, picking up fares, and killing them <more> |
