Powerful, exciting, creative and intelligent - a movie for horror fans and non horror fans (by LisaMJones988) |
I am not a great horror fan but I do like the occasional film. I saw the Dead before I saw this one, to get an idea how the Ford brothers worked on their art of film making and I thought it was an appealing genre of zombie films and the cinematography was amazing and the theme of the first film was interesting with the comparison and contrast between these two survivors but I did find it slow in some parts.I managed to get to see this film at the FrightFest, London. I think what the Ford brothers have done is taken The Dead 2 to a much higher level and made it more fast-paced, with more <more> |
A step beyond the excellent sequel (by Dialage2) |
Firstly I'm a fan of the genre but primarily a fan of film. The Dead 2: India in my opinion really improved on the areas which if I'm critical the first film needed improving on. The acting by Joseph Millson was nothing short of emphatic, his emotion really shone through and for this the film is much more mainstream as opposed to being pigeon holed as a genre movie. I also enjoyed the pacing of the film and the gorgeous vistas played a part on the overall quality of the film. The bigger budget that the Ford's clearly had on this movie was well utilised and the effects were first <more> |
Worth the Wait! (by dan-hemingway) |
Being a big fan of the previous installment 'The Dead' with its old fashioned feel to the filming & beautiful locations & also of the book 'Surviving the Dead' which gives all the awful & sometimes amusing stories of the horrific scenarios that occurred in & around filming, -I naturally was eagerly awaiting a sequel.Watching the premier at FrighFest 13 I wasn't disappointed!Once again set in another beautiful part of the world -this time in India, the filming shown felt like I was there I could have stepped through the screen quite literally! Again the <more> |
The Walking Dead in India!!! (by geminiredblue) |
Several years ago, the Ford brothers and a team of filmmakers went out to Africa. There, they created the monumental THE DEAD. For some time, they've been promising us a sequel. And I'm proud to say, it's well worth the wait! THE DEAD 2 shifts from Africa to India. Nicholas, an American turbine engineer, must travel over 300 miles to reach his pregnant girlfriend in the heart of the Mumbai slums. The only thing standing in the way... oh about three million undead ravenous cannibals. But he refuses to be stopped. Along the way, he picks up Javed, an orphaned boy. And together, they <more> |
Spielberg, with blood on his hands :- (by prabhjotbhatia1) |
Frankly, I hadn't expected much when I first entered the hall. By the time movie was finished, my whole opinion about horror films had changed. And the credit goes to Howard J Ford, the young director, and his team for making it so. From beginning to end, he keeps you on the knife-edge. Fast-paced and no stretched out scenes with right cuts at right time. If photography was great, sounds effects were so realistic and so well timed they could give you a heart attack; even shock the dead back to life! Throughout, you feel you are part of plot and start to tremble with tension of Joseph <more> |
Enjoyable if slightly flawed zombie effort (by kannibalcorpsegrinder) |
As a zombie plague threatens India, a man and the orphan he picks up along the way try to deal with the influx of the ravenous creatures on his plans to return to the city for his pregnant lover and escape the zombie-infested country.Overall this one wasn't all that bad and provided a lot to like here. What works the best here is the fact that there's just no rest allowed throughout here from the zombie massacre, which is really from the start here on throughout the rest of the film. With the initial encounters starting just minutes after the opening credits and basically put forth <more> |
A love story with bite. (by daveramsey-63980) |
I was sceptical as it was set in india and never watched the first dead movie. I really enjoyed it, good acting, lots of jumpy zombie scenes, the story was good too, a love story with a bite The main actor is very good and the rest were excellent too. I gave 8/10 as many recent zombie flicks have been horrendous, i would watch this movie again and still enjoy it. Well done ford brothers with a low budget making a movie worthy of the cinema. |
