Diane Lane is all you have to say. Critics are morons. This is a must see movie (by jessie-39) |
We start all of our reviews with the following information. My wife and I have seen nearly 100 movies per year for the past 15 years. Recently, we were honored by receiving lifetime movie passes to any movie any time at no cost! So we can see whatever we want whenever we want. The point of this is that CRITICS count for ZERO. Your local critics or the national critics like Ebert are really no different than you or me. The only difference is that they get to write about the movie and are forced to see hundreds of movies whether they want to or not. Therefore, it is our belief that if you get <more> |
We Have A Mentally Disturbed Generation Of Film Goers! (by sataft-2) |
First of all, even with a scant few trivial character actions that were a tad bit questionable, this film is absolutely - EXCELLENT! How can I say that? Well my wife and I usually get through our bag of popcorn within the first quarter of a film. This time, however, when the film ended we had almost a half bag left - uneaten. No, it wasn't disgust from anything depicted in the film, it was simply that the film grabbed our attention and virtually never let go.Now, who am I? Well, I am a scientist and my wife is a British midwife. Yes, we are computer competent and that may be a key element. <more> |
An awesome thriller. Totally bad-ass. Highly recommended. (by oreo-junkie) |
Man I loved this movie. You know when you go to a movie that you know relatively little about it and are not really expecting much. Then you go and it turns out to be a really awesome movie. That was our experience with "Untraceable" the new thriller starring Oscar Nominee Diane Lane The Perfect Storm, Unfaithful, Under The Tuscan Sun .Directed by Gregory Hoblit Fracture, Primal Fear, 24 this thriller hits all the right bases. The atmosphere is palpable and grim and is very much like "Se7en". The acting is uniformly great. Diane Lane is bad-ass in this movie and carries <more> |
A really good thriller! (by moorecameron94) |
This movie starts out good and ends out good. The ending was okay, they could of made it better. There were 1 or 2 moments in this movie that made you jump but thats it. The acting was awesome, the story line was perfect, the direction was perfect to. The reason why I didn't give it a 10/10 is because there were a few parts that dragged. That didn't stop the suspense! The movie was very smart. I love all the technology and how smart the killer is. Its so cool to watch all the stuff they do and how fast they can see where, and what the killer is doing. I would recommend this movie for <more> |
Untreacable is the thriller I have been searching for! (by moviesaccordingtodes) |
Amazing, Amazing movie! This is the first good thriller I have seen in a very long time. The acting was fantastic; this movie was overflowing with well respected actors and actresses like Diane Lane, Peter Lewis, Billy Burke, and Colin Hanks. The plot was intelligent and original. It was suitable for the times we are currently living in. There is now a new type of crime, crimes committed over the internet. This is one of the first movies to be released that deals with murder by way of computer. It was horrifying to watch and to think about but I suppose it can happen and we, as a society <more> |
Tight Thriller (by riannon-2) |
It's too bad this film is being hailed as "The Silence of the Lambs for the technological age" because it does it an injustice by setting inaccurate expectations. Untraceable is not as intricately plotted as SOTL, nor does it have such deeply memorable characters few movies do! . That said, its fast-moving plot winds computer technology, the Internet, and society's fascination with serial killers and voyeurism into an edge-of-your-seat thriller that delivers. If you want to see blood, gore and guts close up and personal for the entire movie, stick with Saw, Hostel and the <more> |
Strong Performances Compensate (by LAKERS34) |
Diane Lane and a strong supporting cast make up for a "been there-done that" crime drama. The story contains a few original twists as well as a few serious implausibilities. Nevertheless, the direction, pace, and performances, especially Lane's and Bill Burke's, draw you in and by the abrupt conclusion, you are on the edge of your chair. Burke and Lane, as rival investigators, develop an interesting chemistry that builds through the film and is never compromised. Joseph Cross gives a creepy, effective performance as the deranged techno-killer. The fact that the story gives <more> |
Underrated (by Dragoneyed363) |
That is the one word I will tell you perfectly sums up and describes my opinions towards this awesome film and it's bogus reception. Untraceable was a suspenseful thriller with great action, fun death strategies, and wonderful acting, that has a ridiculous amount of unappreciative reviews and hate aimed at it in all the areas that a lot of people have no problems with in other movies.Diane Lane was a great actress in this film. As I have said, the performances are excellent, and she of course gives the best and she made the movie totally believable and enjoyable. While there were of <more> |
Terrific Thriller (by Irish365) |
I would say Hoblit's best film to date. He is very careful to let the film build slowly and he never goes for the cheap scare.Diane Lane is tremendous as always, she can do no wrong. Burke and Hanks are solid supporting cast. The cinematography is excellent. I was surprised at how well the film balanced the thriller and drama beats. Someone after the movie said this was the thinking-man's SAW and I would have to agree. Also Joseph Cross delivered an effectively creepy performance as the killer. The score by Christopher Young does not disappoint. He remains one of the best composers <more> |
