total laughter (by p-a-mclarty) |
The movie was 98 min. , I laughed, chuckled, giggled, guffawed for 95 minutes and took a couple of breathes in the remaining 3. I have a witness . Yes humour is a personal thing and this movie was fabulous, characters perfect everyone ,just what the de-stress doc ordered.I'm go'in back for more!!!!!!!! P.S. It's a comedy folks!Like in "Blazing Saddles", "Monty Python".It's a 10 ++. Underneath all this fun is a message for us all. There are some very interesting people out there who are very smart, kind, generous and most of all willing to love with abandon <more> |
The Woman With The Red Shoes (by Chrysanthepop) |
'All about Steve' may not be a favourite for many but I found it to be laugh out loud hilarious. There are inconsistencies concerning the story, sometimes the film loses focus and the ending is a little choppy but for me it was the very funny dialogues and performances by the actors that made this film laughable. I also liked the characters. Sandra Bullock is easily one of the best actresses today even though she remains underrated. As annoying as her character Mary might be, there is something likable about her, an innocence and intelligence that made it impossible for me to dislike <more> |
Cute Movie (by dancingbug841) |
You either love or you hate it. I LOVE this movie. I think Sanda is cute in it. She plays the part very well and I like the ending. I related to her character very well and looked up to the character. All the stuff you feel like you should do when starting a relationship, she did it, no matter how crazy it made her seem. She actually inspired me to make my own puzzles rather than buying the books. Go Sandra! I also really love that it has an independent film feel about it. It doesn't seem overdone and the jokes aren't too scripted and obvious laugh. The jokes seemed very natural and <more> |
Awkward Comedy: "There is a method in the Madness" (by elegantenlightenments) |
Written In True Mary Horowitz Style:Did you ever wonder HOW a Real person with a completely separate "Public" identity feels - say Charles Lindbergh whose child was stolen or Martin Luther King, Jr. whose front porch was bombed? There are Crazy people in this world - UTTERLY out of their mind crazy, mean and destructive...then there people like Mary: Kind, Gentle, Dorky and always trying to figure things out - yet still trying to find real love - just like everyone else. I thought Ms. Bullock's film was very compassionate, considerate and caring - An Excellent Comedy with <more> |
Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper succeed in this romantic comedy. (by mass_media) |
"I wear these boots because they make my toes feel like 10 friends camping." Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper come together to make a hilarious film where this quote is featured. This movie is titled All About Steve. The movie starts out with Bullock's character, Mary, and Cooper's character, Steve, together on a blind date. Mary begins falling in love with Steve immediately, however; Steve is afraid of her. He feels like she is stalking him because no matter where his job takes him, she is always there and calling his name. Steve's business partner is constantly <more> |
Massively better than the critics said (by xorys) |
This is a movie I really felt I had to write about, as it got so universally panned, and it's really pretty good. It would be such a great shame if they stopped making movies like this, because of all the yapping nay-sayers. I'm not saying that it's the best movie of the year... but I am saying that the gap between how good it is and the reviews it got is the greatest I've seen for... well, a very long while - many years. OK, so maybe I'm a bit biased, given that I'm something like the main character in some ways - I'm not cute, and certainly no one has ever called <more> |
Very good movie for people without preconceptions (by hardland) |
I've read many negative review's about this film, and certainly, they only could be written by people with preconceptions. If you expect a fixed behaviour of "stars" which must do again and again the same roles -like in the old bad Hollywood times- then... this movie is not for you. This is a very nice comedy, about an unconventional, passionate, creative, intelligent and naive woman, who has problems to get "adapted" to society. She struggles to be normal, but meanwhile finds that what's important is to be herself. It's been really good acted -especially <more> |
Count me as another who enjoyed this film (by imdb-7660) |
I watch a lot of movies, though not when first run at theaters -- generally I'll wait until the DVD price falls. This is why I only now getting around to viewing this film that "won" Sandra Bullock her Razzie. And I believe that the Razzie voters were mistaken. I feel that Bullock did a nice job of playing a quirky, annoying person. Surely there were plenty of performances far more deserving of this award.Although the character could be annoying, she still seemed like someone that would also be good to have as a friend, particularly as she evolved by the end of the movie. I think <more> |
All about the comedy and the commentary on society (by napierslogs) |
"All About Steve" is, in fact, not all about Steve Bradley Cooper , nor is it about Mary Sandra Bullock . To be obtuse, it's about everyone and everything.Mary is full of fun, useless facts and interesting vocabulary words. But for all her book and dictionary smarts, she lacks in professional and societal decorum. Hence, why she thinks it's appropriate to take a journey across the country to find love with Steve. As I said before, it's not all about Steve. It's about Mary trying to find love and meaning in her life, Steve thinking it's all about him, and the <more> |
