Not what you expect in a good way (by mudombie) |
Great concept and execution by an up-and-coming independent filmmaker. There are moments where the pace could have been a tad tighter, but it didn't at all take away from the unique and intense impact this film offers. Fans of independent film looking for an entertaining alternative to the Hollywood formula need look no further. I look forward to seeing more of Mr. Trost's work. What else can I say? I'm glad I spent my 6.99 to see it. I could write about the plot or whatever, but honestly would that convince you? Keep in mind it's a very low budget film, and I'm not one <more> |
Creative, inventive, and unique. Capably acted "pulp fiction" 80s infused narrative. (by nicholas-morine) |
This movie was always going to be polarizing -- it is not a movie made for the masses or really the general viewing public writ large. It is obviously a love letter to the darker and more dystopian themes of exploitation films, 80s action films, and cult horror. There is also plenty of self awareness present here, which is subtle and well played. All Superheroes Must Die is a fantastic little film that, in my opinion, is capably acted. Rickshaw is hilarious and competent. Charge is vulnerable yet determined. Shadow is particularly well acted. The camera shots are inventive, the film pacing is <more> |
Superhero Story Done Right (by CollinJosephNeal) |
Absolutely loved this film for most everything in it. The story was great from beginning to end, loved the fact things kept going back and forth and couldn't figure out where it was going to go next. A mix of SAW, KICK ASS, and more this film definitely is going to be a cult classic. The way the plot kept thickening and flowing from scene to scene keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat as an audience member. The costuming, film style, and dark gritty environments make this a must see for comic book fans, superhero fans, and action loving fans. The acting was well done as well as <more> |
I would watch it again. (by alshwenbear1) |
You got to watch this for what it is: a low budget movie with an idea behind it maybe to get enough money an attention for a bigger BANG. Regardless of not having great acting and some obvious mistakes; this film will keep your attention even though not much your curiosity about the abilities of the characters, why? Because we have seen it all! What a better situation than supers without their powers dealing against an evil mind telling them basically to kill themselves sooner than later. And what about showing them for what they really are, the good guys willing to let the innocent die for <more> |
A Decent Effort on a Low Budget (by sacmaph) |
Before judging this film too harshly, remember it was made on a tiny budget and in a handful of days. It's basically a glorified student film, and if I were marking it, I'd give it an A. It's an interesting concept and the acting, while mediocre, shows promise, especially that of Jason Trost and Sophie Merkley. There's an awesome scene where the bitchy journalist guy from "Never Been Kissed" is dressed up as Uncle Sam and is armed with a flamethrower. It's worth a watch if only for that scene. James Remar is pretty good I guess, although it's hard to tell <more> |
Why so much hate? (by alexdelliott) |
I would really like someone to explain to me how The Avengers, a film as generic as they come, gets praised as one of the best films of all time whereas a film like this that pushes the boundaries of film and focuses on the human characters rather than a bunch of gorillas with powers gets so many reviews hating on it. I'm not one of those to go easy on a film because it has a low budget, I either like a film or I don't. And I really liked this one.Our 4 superheroes are kidnapped and stripped of their powers by Jokeresque villain Rickshaw and forced through a series of 'games' <more> |
