enough about how well they captured the emotion of the eras and the acting. For those of you who are wondering about the ending, there was absolutely an ending if you watch the film. Watch the end scene again, there's definitely an "ending," albeit you don't know exactly where they're heading or what is to come next leaving you to say to yourself, "I really hope there's a part two." I seriously wanted to beg the writer to author a sequel and bring back the original Hannah again revealing more about what lead her to make the choice she made because Ashley Rickards was more than stellar and made the whole film. Musical score was perfect.

different story to it. it's not like your average demon, haunting and possession type of movies. it's different and really scary.

of you are familiar with magic, or black magic, that makes sense. Let me tell you a little of what I know. In black magic, the ultimate is to Conjure demons, and black magicians like to f*** with people. They also like to test boundaries and release demons that they can command, or to do their ultimate will. For me, the uncle made sense and was realistic as far as using accurate vernacular and so on. He wanted to release a demon, probably to darken the world. If you can't understand it now, you're hopeless. I seriously got angry at the reviews of this good movie. Such idiots, on here. This was creepy, compelling and scary throughout. I've read reviews that said there wasn't enough character development. Well, personally, I hate movies like The Strangers , that the first half hour is spent in some people's lives that are totally meaningless to the film, just focused on their drama. I watch movies , horror movies to be scared. To be freaked out. Not to get to know people, and anyways. These leading lives were developed just fine. I guess you have to be mildly smart to pick up on the very obvious clues and hints into who they are as people. Plus , the getting right into style, unfolds the mystery. This movie isn't about three women. It's about a demon. The women are just demonic pawns. I love that you have to guess about the creepy characters. It's almost better that way. People nowadays just lack the imagination to do that. I really liked this film. Much better than The Conjuring , which I was totally disappointed by. I'm still not sure if it was those jerk kids in the movie theater laughing at all the scary parts, but I really thought that movie lacked. Most recent horror movie I liked? Oculus. That movie was rad. This movie is big budget. This movie is directed really well, filmed really well. And acted really well. I liked all the lead characters. This movie left me with that funny feeling in your tummy. You know - the one that you have after watching a car accident. The great thing about this film, is that it didn't achieve that by cheap and sleazy thrills. Like the shock and gross thing. I think a lot of horror fans like that sort of thing, the Saws. And the sexual sadism thing. I don't. I like a good thinking horror movie. With a brain. This was that, but not too complicated. Sometimes I feel like independent writers and directors just really overdose us on dialog and character development that we don't care about and don't need to see or hear at all. It's just someone's ego plastered on the screen. Unless you are a Tarantino, then, you're excused. But most of you are not, and shouldn't even try to be. Watch this movie. If you don't like it , it's because of three reasons. 1- you have bad , very bad taste in movies. 2- you're one of those psydeu film snobs, a wanna be film critic, that needs to feel important by trying to be superior over other people's actual work. While you do nothing with your life , except judge the people that are actually producing something with theirs. 3- you're on drugs, or drunk.

horror movies keep the monster just out of view. It's there but you cannot really focus on what it is.It's not incredibly brilliant but it's a good watch and that's all I really need.

sister, one of which doesn't want to have children while the other can't have any and wishes one of them could. Plus the runaway girl, who we gradually learn has had to deal with the house and all its darkness before.I really enjoyed Nicholas McCarthy's film The Pact when I first saw it. I've watched it several times. McCarthy is really good with tension. His writing is pretty good. Though both At the Devil's Door and The Pact seem similar to many other films in the horror genre, it's the way they're handled, how they're filmed, the look they have about them that puts them above the rest.Though there are no big name actors in this film, it doesn't matter. Although many will recognize a cast member of Glee here. The actors all portray their characters fairly well. The actress who plays Leigh, Cataline Sandino Moreno, I remember her from The Bridge in Season 1, and she does a pretty decent job with the character. Naya Rivera was also good. I've personally never seen Glee, I can't speak to her acting talents other than in this film, and I think she played her character convincingly. The rest of the cast filled the movie out fine, in my opinion.I would highly suggest anybody who enjoyed McCarthy's previous work in The Pact check this one out. I gave this an 8 out of 10 because even while treading really familiar ground i.e haunted house, the devil, et cetera , it brings something new to the horror genre instead of the same old story. Many might disagree and say it's completely the same, but it's how things are presented here. There is no apocalyptic feel to the devil here- he is an evil, malevolent entity preying on those who enter the house. The devil in this film isn't looking to overthrow the world, he simply wants some souls to own, to play with, to with as he chooses. It's a more personal touch to the typical satanic-type horror film, in my mind, as we watch the devil prey on two sisters who inadvertently come into contact with the house's evil.There are some really creepy scenes in this one, from glimpses of the devil in the darkness, lurking behind people, to tense moments where we don't know exactly what is happening or is going to happen. Check this one out instead of Devil's Due and those sorts- this film is much better.

girl initial character came to an end, simply because...well, she died! The story of this individual was to introduce the events that followed, leading up to the ending. I did not get a sense of a twist, might I add.Essentially, without the story of the first character, there would have been nothing to follow on with, and had the film focused any further on the said character it would have been a rather boring film, I must say.Leigh's segment This character, was the next one in the story. Before I say anything further, I would like to say that this is a story about the devil trying to gain entry into the world, not hot young girls. Leigh was not supposed to be interesting, she just bridged the gap between the initial character, and the final character.The story keeps you interested even more when you begin to see cut scenes from the past, revolving around how the initial character was effected by what happened in the introduction. These cut scenes happen at times when they seem most relevant.I'm sorry but if you won't be able to keep up with the film, or you weren't happy with what was happening, or you found it difficult to get into the story of the characters, then perhaps you should just put on a copy of Bambi and eat baby food tonight instead. Because, you weren't supposed to be getting into the characters, although I honestly did not see it coming, I was not disappointed by any means. Actually I was shocked, and it was quite refreshing to not be watching a film that just stuck to one character. Moreover, the sequential character changes were justified, in that the story was moving forward while the plot never changed.The story does not boil down to a supernatural birth. The story was always leading up to the idea that the devil was after something in particular. In this case, it was to be a person.It was NOT the case that the story veered onto the path of evil children and the parent who sets out to stop them at any cost. Actually it seemed quite the contrary.Overall, this is a great movie, different, original, tense, creepy and scary at times, with a new refreshing twist on the idea that the devil could be in the body of a child.
