Theological Movie Set in a plausible reality (by tayloreckstrom)
This series has been good at setting theological situations and what can happen. This movie on this round has taken to the level of what happens when we don't forgive. And what happens when we do.The world has its agenda, and the church has the agenda of the ministry of reconciliation through Jesus Christ. How can the church see these opportunities? Well watch this movie to grasp a glimpse of possibilities.
Great movie (by blackjack-47563)
Well made, shows how mob mentality can drive a situation from a false assumption. Very true to our society today.
Ignore the trolls. Go see it! (by john_s_johnson)
This movie had some of the best character development out of all of them. I thought that it was better than the second film. The first is still probably better, but this was a very worthy sequel. Don't listen to the trolls, they have no idea what they are talking about. In fact I'm going to call them out right now. BenalbersFacebook it had nothing to do with victimization it had to do with unity. ChewyPenguin-59931 you call it predictable christian propaganda. Do you even know what happened? The movie has a message that is very timely.
A movie that speaks to the world we live in today... (by DelightInTheLord)
A movie that does not back away from the question, where is God when tragedy happens? And how do we treat those who despitefully use us? The answer is not easy to find, But if we seek the truth, it will be revealed to us. God is always good, even when life isn't...a movie that speaks to millennials and every generation...
Third in a series (by vikitoria)
This may have been not as good as the second movie, but it carried its own weight okay. The performances from John Corbett, whom I've always had a crush on, and David A.R. White are great. The others were only so-so, walking through their parts. The light in darkness was a good theme, but again, the sub cast did not carry it all that well. But, I would see it again because I may have missed something in there. All in all, GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME, and ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD.
It is what it is. (by lesliehuntsman)
There is no hidden propaganda or bad acting. The only reason anyone could not like this movie is attention span or they are struggling with their own issues. There is nothing offensive nothing fire and brimstone about this film. It's politics vs the little people with religion thrown in AND about what a LOT of our youth and young adults are dealing with today. It was very helpful and informative to me, as an adult, to help answer questions and concerns I am approached with quite often. Why would God let this happen? Or if there was a God then why?? Christians aren't perfect and we are <more>
always struggling, as depicted in the film. It's nice to see a film on the big screen that you can take something away from and feel good about it. All without cheating, stealing and planning revenge. It's also nice to see forgiveness, kindness and not everyone out for themselves. OH! Jon Corbett made this film!! Lol
A well made movie over all. It kept us interested throughout. There are several unexpected plot twists, however it is not as good as the first so I only gave it 8 stars. There were some outstanding performances as well. All in all a great family movie, and a must see for all Christians.
Great Movie (by kimberly-kendrick83)
A Light in the Darkness was a great movie about Faith, Love and Forgiveness. Phenomenal characters, great storyline. I will definitely be owning this movie!
MOVIE QUOTE: "Jesus was the ultimate social justice warrior" (by evolutioncausesracism)
Let's put a new spin on a old quote: The message is more important than the medium. Critics may say the acting wasn't amazing - you may think this is a bit different, but I didn't go to this movie to see the acting. I went to this movie to get a different take on Christians and the world. There were POWERFUL themes throughout this movie. The idea that the vast majority of believers in Jesus have been of great benefit to mankind, that persecution of Christians is blatantly hypocritical especially when it is by people who supposedly believe in free speech. Even the lawyer that is <more>
defending the pastor is not a believer, but still defends the right to free speech. The white pastor is far from perfect, and expresses his frustration about "Christians not standing up for themselves", then gets dressed down for complaining to an older black pastor about persecution. POWERFUL STUFF. The right to free speech does not even create controversy until someone says something you don't like. That is what makes America, Canada and other Western countries free. For those who love socialism and communism, please move to China or Russia. After a time living there, and getting used to not even having the right to go see many movies that the state has outlawed - you will beg for the freedom to come back here and be free to watch a movie you may or may not like. I would say the theme at the end of the movie was that in the end, love conquers. I asked my wife what message the movie brought, she said, "When you feel the need to fight, fight with love." What is more important in a movie? A critics opinion about whether or there was an "Oscar winning performance" by one of the actors, or is it more important that the movie made me feel good, and inspired me to act more like Jesus. I would say the latter. Jesus did look out for the widow and the orphan, but he did not promote current society fantasy idea of "social justice" rob the rich to give to the poor also known as socialism. All the freedom in the world can be traced back to what Jesus taught. Go and read it for yourself. #God's Not Dead
