A Great Twist on My Favorite Fairy Tale (by ja_kitty_71)
I have loved fairy tales, and even as an adult I still love them I'm 21 years old . I was shocked and surprised by the negative reviews I would see on the web, I thought this film is a great twist of one of my favorite fairy tales - Cinderella. Like what if Cinderella's evil stepmother gets a hold of The Wizard's staff and takes over Fairytale Land? The Wizard is the one who makes sure every fairy tale has a happy ending. What if Cinderella or Ella in the film doesn't goes for The Prince who is a pompous dumb ass , but Rick the kitchen boy? Well technically in the original <more>
story, Ella was a nobleman's daughter until he married the evil Stepmother Frieda in the film and unfortunately died and Ella became "Cinderella." I like a little twist now and then anyway. The animation and backgrounds are very pretty and the characters are appealing. The casting is very good too, even though Patrick Warburton can be a bit annoying as The Prince...sorry but it's true. The two scenes I love is the battle at the Seven Dwarfs' house, and the musical and colorful "If I Get What I Want" scene.
I loved it it had good characters good voices good jokes but if you are one of those people that nothing is good enough don't watch otherwise go for it! but saying that i love it mainly because of the people speaking it but its still fabulous! Don't go exspecting a no.1 movie better than shrek an wallace an gromit because nothing can beat that lol! I loved the way that the characters are all connected an the way it all links in to fairy tales. It is a great movie for kids, as it has a lot of jokes just for kids and because of the creators! So i hope you all enjoy the movie as much as i <more>
I loved it. None of it was boring and it had a good story line. tell me if Im wrong but I think It is better than Shrek 1. Anybody can see it ages 5-60. I would definitely put it in my top 50 movies! If you say it was bad you are so wrong. no offense I really enjoyed that. I would really enjoy to here what YOU think! SEE IT!! My favorite character was Mombo!! He rocks! You cant disagree with that. I think the actors were really good. You know Kronk form the Emporers New Groove? Well He is the clumbsy but nice prince! The pig dude that helps out Mumbo is the T. Rex toy in Toy Story!I hope when <more>
you see it because of me you really enjoy that movie!
I prefer a creative story to a traditional one (by cathline55)
to my surprise, many people give it a low mark. I like it very much. Why don't we accept a different story? Why Cinderalla must be a very beautiful girl with long hair? why prince must be a strong brave man? Why do we treat everything according to the standards we are taught? We actually have choices. I wonder why people don't like it, just because it tells a new story, without a brave handsome prince nor a beautiful hot Cinderalla. In most times, people have a negative attitude to new things, just like this movie. That's the reason why we need creativity. Years later, they will <more>
find that they are wrong.I adore the screenwriter a lot, because not every one has courage to write a sooooooooooo new story. To a movie, story is first, high-technology is the second, stars are the third. I don't know why Shrek is a hit. It's also an original movie. No handsome actor, only ugly Shrek, neither charming princess, only a fat ugly female-monster. But it got a good ticket box. The same story here only get a lower mark. Funny!
Happily N'ever After 2006 : Dir: Paul J. Bolger / Voices: Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sigourney Weaver, Patrick Warburton, George Carlin: Imaginative and underrated animation that is quite funny. The target is fairy tale happy endings with the wicked step-mother arguing in favor of the villains. A wizard guards the scales between good and evil until it ends up in the hands of the wicked step-mother. Now Goldielocks is eaten by the wolf, Sleeping Beauty never wakes up, and Rumpelstiltskin nabs the baby. Although formula in structure director Paul J. Bolger has fun with the <more>
clichés, which he exploits within full burst of humour. Freddie Prinze Jr. voices the dishwasher who wishes to marry Ella, voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar. We know that these two are destine to be together but they break all grounds of tradition to get there. Sigourney Weaver voices the wicked step-mother who pleads her case on behalf of every fairy tale villain. When she gains control she breaks every fairy tale rule but fails to reflect on the reality that evil will be defeated. Patrick Warburton is always dependable when it comes to providing voice humour. He voices the lazy and arrogant Prince who embarks on the quest to save Ella. George Carlin voices the wizard who keeps everything in balance until he leaves his imbeciles in charge. Theme expresses the importance of living happily ever after. Score: 9 / 10
I thought it was funny, it had good jokes, great writing, and unlike so many other kids movies these days it was CLEAN. I mean there was some jokes for the adults, but they were subtle and if your kid gets them, you may want to pay attention to what else they're watching. My husband and I loved Freida, the wicked step mother, she has a great body! So careful of the men who watch it!The only time I got bored was the very end when everything is fix and they all live Happily Ever After, we all knew it would happen, I personally love twist and darker endings, but yeah, it's a kids <more>
movie!Overall it is a fun family movie, but if you like stupid Sponge Bob humor it may not be your cup of tea.
Good movie , worth seeing it once ! (by rajeshk-4)
I saw this movie, and i liked it.. well it lives to my expectations. Story line is interesting and funny. IMHO its worth seeing at least once. Hope fully the DVD contains some other extra information like making-of Animation, story visualizations.. I liked the animation too, even though its not up to pixar quality , it lives up to my expectation, and its appealing. Certainly this movie goes in to my Home DVD collection. The story line is where it all starts getting interested. The scenes and plots were good, except some moments you feel the walk and climb feel little awkward and unnatural, <more>
but overall the animation quality and the Cinderella facial expressions are very well done, and it adds up to the personality. Certainly a good one to watch.
I'm gonna review it because I never watched it in years, so here you go, Animation: It looks awesome and smooth like any CGI movies Voice Acting: Good Plot: The reason why the plot is not stolen from Shrek because the creators of Shrek and Shrek 2 made this movie Character Design: Looks awesome and very detailed End Credit: Awesome song that made listen to this all the time Editing: Okay sometimes Good I rate it 10/10
