High school musical 3 is truly a magical movie. The songs and tracks are written nicely and wonderful. IM sure HSM 1 2 and 3 are awesome. BUt I think if they made a fourth it's way over. Fan can't survive not using the same cast original cast. IF they DO make a fourth without Zac Efron , Vanessa Hudgens, I swear. I will never watch ANY MORE STINKIN Disney movies that has those things like Camp Rock or Zack and Cody. They think they can make money. Well IM not gonna waste money watching the fourth. The Third was truly well made. IT has great dances which makes you groove with the movie <more>
itself! If you love music then go watch it. Cuz its really worth it!!YEs. Another disspointing thing was putting new characters to HSm3. Tiara, Jimmy and DOnny are the most stupidest things Disney could've done to this movie. IT ruined it. Incredibly. They are so not funny. And they are innaprrate. They are show offs with no hoos. Yet thanks to Disney, they ruined another wonderful movie. OF course I sure had hoped Sharpay and Ryan would be here but it seems most of the songs are sung by gab and troy which was another disspointing thing. Tiara,Donny and Tiara brought absouloutley NOTHING to the movie. I usually don't like to say this but...THEY SUCK!!
An AWESOME end to a thrilling series of films! (by james_quain)
To be honest when the original High School Musical came out I thought that it wasn't going to be my thing and I didn't end up watching it until I was forced to by some people from work. However from that day on my eyes were opened to the true awesomeness of the High School Musical sensation that has shacked the whole world and made musicals cool for people to watch once more!! High School Musical is probably the best out of the three films, mainly because it is the original and will always hold a place in my heart for that reason. The second film contained a few more cheesy songs in <more>
a good way!! and deserved the huge amount of views it received on TV.The third film carries the story on a bit further into their final year of college and is beautifully orchestrated. It is clearly apparent that it has a higher budget than the first two TV films and they have used this increased budget to great effect especially in scenes such as 'the boys are back'.High School Musical: Senior Year is a film i would recommend to any HSM fan or anyone that wants to have an enjoyable fun night out at the cinema, you will not be disappointed!! ENJOY!!!!!What team? WILDCATS!!!! I said, what team?? WILDCATS!!!!! Getcha Head in the Game!!!!
High School Musical 3 had high expectations after the past two high school musicals. This movie went far beyond my expectations for how I thought they'd conclude the threquel. It was the most amazing and emotional movie I've seen in my life. The music was amazing and the choreography and music numbers were beyond beliefs. The most outstanding actor in the movie would be Zac Efron especially in Scream. He showed all of his many talents. Gabriella was also very good. And for all of the Sharpay lovers, I Want it All will definitely satisfy you. The work that went in this movie payed of <more>
and left an optimistic but still sad ending to High School Musical. It's so sad to see the series left on such an amazing note. Too bad HSM can't last forever! Despite some haters that gave bad reviews on this page, this movie will be the best movie you will ever see!
Before going to see this film, you should have enjoyed the first two. If you didn't, there's absolute no reason why you should go see this one. However, between the three, this feature was obviously the best. the fact that it was released in a cinema meant they had more money to use and thus made it much more an enjoyable film to watch. The dance sequences are much more complex, the songs are much more well performed. All the cast's efforts in the first two have been put together to make the final one the best one that they could possibly do. Okay, there might be a little too much <more>
romance, and though they're supposed to be in love, they only kiss properly once...but hey it's a kids film.Take your children to see it, it's truly magical. Take yourself to see it, and just have an open mind, but prepare for over cheesiness and a hell lot of catchy songs.
Amazing! Spectacular! Fabulous! The Best High School Musical Yet! (by AJ_is_Awesomness)
I was not a huge fan of the first 2 High School Musicals. One would say a formula set for money making and taking from young people of the world whilst at the same time milking the old cash cow in the process was never going to flutter in my eyes. The first was a tried and tested approach to reproducing the next best 'thing' in the Disney tweenie bop department, but it worked quite well leading onto many other followups of the same league The Hannah Montanna esquire audience will agree. The sequel was obviously a cash in to sell more merchandise but it was arguably as good as the <more>
first, with many more catchy tunes and typical High School cliques for the little ones to boggle at. So here we are, back again with High School Musical 3: Senior Year. But this time we are taking things to a whole new level. The BIG screen in fact! The concept here is the biggie- all our HSM stars are about to leave and start their new lives at different universities dotted across the map, but for some, like Gabriella and Troy this seems like too big of a step to take too soon just listen to the song and you will be welling up like a baby. Instead of prying and worrying about losing contact, the students decide to perform in one last musical, primarily about themselves and their own hopes and fears towards growing up. But of course the real question here is will Gabriella and Troy really lose each other for good? Will Sharpay ever be the main show girl? Can Ryan outshine his twin sister and become the next big American sensation? And will Troy give up the Wildcats after graduation? What works with HSM3 is the fact that it tenders towards being incredibly sweet, but not too sickly for its own good. The songs are catchy, and whilst some feel a bit icky like Sharpay's never giving up on fame song they tend to be toe tapping and carry a feel good vibe missing from the previous two. The acting is relatively good considering most of the action is singing or rather miming and the dance choreography is stunning this time around, particularly in the High School Musical song right at the very end and the Junkyard scene with Troy and Chad. Things are also a lot more grown up this time around and director Kenny Ortega doesn't shy away from portraying the harsh realities of growing up. Relationships end, friendships are threatened and each individual is portrayed how most graduates leaving High School would be feeling at the given time. Its really quite an emotional movie taken away the bright and brassy songs and at quite a few points its noticeable as you reflect on your own experiences. Aside from the teenage gooey stuff there still remains the childish in-jokes like a rehash of Troy's favourite toys from when he was little and plenty of eye candy for visual viewers. The sets are lavishing and the costumes are gorgeous. It feels so theatrical but is all the better for it. There is also slapstick thrown here, there and everywhere, like when Sharpay has to duet alongside 'Rocket Man' and her reaction to his intentions. Classic! So, for the most part High School Musical is amazing. Its breathtaking in some scenes, stunning in others and heart pulling at the rest. Its a very entertaining movie and people are going to like it.Now sadly for the criticism. As much as I can appreciate a Disney flick, the cheese here is almost unbearable. It was obviously going to be cheesy all of the HSM movies are but here they take thing way ott. The beginning for example, where Gabriella suddenly pops up in the crowd at the Wildcat's game and starts singing to Troy telling him to carry on and win is almost ludicrously overdone and far fetched. Another flaw here is the fact that it darts to and fro between reality, flashbacks and daydreams so you never know if something is actually happening or whether it is indicated as a dream. And this corresponds with quite a few notable plot holes. Now I am not the best geographer in the world, but how is it possible for Troy to turn up over a thousand miles to Gabriella's campus at the university in a mere few hours to ask her to come back to the prom? This would require some big bucks not that Zac Effron himself couldn't afford it and a huge time lapse. Its just not possible I'm afraid and again one would say this was cheesy. I suppose if you put this aside the movie can be taken seriously, but certain things are sadly out of place and they stick out like a sore thumb. So, a final verdict? High School Musical 3: Senior Year is a very good movie. It moves along fast, it enchants and it makes you want to get up and gooo! The acting is good, the songs are great and the dancing has improved greatly. Aside from a few flaws its a very entertaining and well made picture and one which is going to smash the box office. Move over 007! Would I watch it again? Yes. Would I go out and buy all the merchandise after seeing this? Probably. If I was the target audience anyways. One thing is for sure though, this is very good and I really loved it. I would recommend it to anyone for its feel good factor. Just see it. You will know what I mean.
Having liked the 2 previous HSM movies I was really looking forward to Senior Year & it didn't disappoint! The acting had improved, the dance routines were amazing & i really liked the chemistry between all the main cast. There was a lot more chemistry between them all in this movie than there has been in the previous movies. However, one thing I didn't really understand is that Gabriella was there one minute & then just seemed to disappear the next to university. And how did Troy manage to travel over 1000 miles in a night & in a car that didn't work properly & <more>
they managed to get back in time for the musical. I also thought there were too many Troy/Gabriella duets.but, the movie was the perfect way to end the HSM story & i would recommend it to fans! but please don't make a 4th one! it wouldn't be the same without the original cast!
Just like they keep saying, it's a big thank you to the fans!! (by marvel_dude)
OK never wrote one of these before so here goes! IT'S CHEESY, TACKY, AND TOTALLY KIDDY-Disney, AND I LOVED IT! The story is about how the gang are coping with their last days together at school before they "go their own way" haha . What's good about this is as HSM is a series, there are plenty of characters to bring back and nobody's left out! THE BAD STUFF! Better to get this out of the way first.A couple of the songs are just re-workings of the previous movies songs. As are key elements of the plot.Gabrielle & Troy both have their own solo songs, Troys about <more>
struggling with his choices and growing up and Gabrielle has her songs about being alone and her worries about her and Troy not working out. So i'm afraid nothing THAT new or imaginative from the team which is a shame. Also i'm in two minds about this, but JUST BECAUSE you have a big budget, doesn't mean you have to use it! Certain dance routines and songs were kept sweet and simple in true HSM fashion but were shot a whole of a lot better because of the budget such as the waltz on the rooftop garden but some of the songs just used over the top props and scenery which dragged certain scenes away from the focus of the music Sharpay and Ryan's FAME moment is a clear example which is also a shame.Apart from that.. UNSURE BITS - New members of the cast, who are all playing junior students, have big roles. Which is making it more and more apparent that a possible 4th film will be back soon with this next generation. Which will no doubt make Disney some cash, but will be like Grease 2 & Marmite, you'll love it or hate it. The characters themselves are nice enough but spin-offs never truly work and are just shadows of themselves... sorry rambling. And finally - GOOD BITS! The dancing has improved greatly from the past two movies, probably because of the maturity of the cast and the budget increase. It's a good thing trust me! Also, some of the humor has matured a lot with witty one liners and jokes to keep the teenage-adult fans at bay.The love and care given to this film and it's characters by director Kenny Ortega is apparent as every character ever featured in the past 2 movies gets a mention, and is used a lot in the songs and dance routines. What's even sweeter is the ending, which i'm afraid to say made me well up! The final scene where the gang take their final bow in front of a closed curtain sent shivers down my spine that this was well and truly over. What made it more emotional was the close ups of the six gang members faces, all happy and celebrating, proud, with nearly all the girls in tears, because they knew what we knew ....High School Musical is well and truly over.
Okay, I am 100% completely for the High School Musical franchise! Have you noticed that the majority of people who have something derogatory to say about the series are 15+. Well, duh! You were young once too and no one constantly dissed the Lion King or Cinderella or Rugrats or whatever your "show" was as a naive, innocent kid. Lions don't talk or dance or sing, there are no such things as "fairy god mothers" and talking mice, and babies don't have imaginary worlds where they can talk in front of adults, yet no one hears them. What do you want Disney to do: turn <more>
High School Musical into a movie about kids who are sexually active backstage and smoke weed after rehearsals? There's nothing wrong with a nice, innocent, family movie, people! If Disney turned High School Musical into that, you'd be complaining WAY more, trust me! And yes, High School Musical may be like a fantasy high school world that we all WISH could exist, but it's not destroying the kids' brain cells or anything. Once they get to that certain age level, they'll realize that the "perfect, happy, HSM life" was all an illusional element created because it's Disney. So chill. If you went in with that perspective, you'd see that High School Musical 3 was pretty enjoyable and that HSM actually has underlying themes that good do the kids some good! The songs were actually cool and different and were fun to sing along to. It's also sad watching the Wildcats grow up if you're really a fan---they're hearts can't seem to tear away from East High. Oh, and Zac Efron isn't too hard to look at either! Take your kids and have a NICE, innocent, enjoyable, afternoon at the movies to see this!
So the score as I am currently writing this comment is basically "3". As I clicked the number of votes, there was no shock to me to find most of the people who down rated this were, guess who? MALES. Albeit there were some females as well, mostly older females. I'm not afraid of saying anything, so right now I'll tell you I am a 14 year old male, who's not afraid of saying anything. I could care less what anyone thinks of me either. This movie in my opinion does NOT deserve the score of "3". It shouldn't keep you from seeing the movie. It opens with Troy <more>
Bolton Zac Efron at the heat of the moment during the basketball game. During this part of the movie, we are introduced to one of the new characters Jimmie Zara, aka "Rocketman". Later we also see the apparent British clone of Sharpay and some short guy we don't learn that much about. Jimmie does make the movie a tad bit more lively, but serving as Troy Bolton's stalker might make some people feel uncomfortable. Other than Jimmie Zara's kooky comments every once in awhile, the three do not necessarily feel apart of the family. More like a, "Hey! We're just passing through," which I hope that is what they were meant to be. There are humorous parts every once in awhile, then there's parts that were meant to be humorous but aren't, and parts that are humorous but weren't meant to be some dance moves including Chad's pelvic thrust during one of the numbers and Troy appearing to work some pole dance moves on a wire. Song-wise, they aren't as catchy as the previous movies but I don't think they were meant to be. It felt like the songs were only supposed to be sung by the original singers, which is the way it should be. There were some synchronization errors but that didn't take away from the songs very much. The thing I think may make some people dread this movie is the realism. Well, technically it is a movie, so you shouldn't compare it to real life. However, I unfortunately did find myself comparing the movie to myself, and it unfortunately DID take away from the movie. It is a tad bit more cheesy than the others. The end pulls the movie together magnificently, and some may even get a bit teared up by the ending which I will not disclose obviously . I think that's what will make more people understand the movie. The cast was like a family, and the project was a success that shouldn't be messed with from here on out.
