| This movie is a parodie about Sherlock Holmes movies. And a damn good one. If you are fan of John C Reilly and Will Ferell like i am and a fan of Doyle and Holmes and Watson stories like me , then this is a movie just for you me! . Every joke and scene is a full joy and those mockings about previous Sherlock movies is very well succeeded. I laughed and had fun. Btw ive seen many Sherlock movies and series, saw many Reilly and Ferell ones, always looking like, are they fading... and have seen previous comedies about Holmes, they were not very funny, was hopin when will someone do a good <more> |

| I really can't believe all the negative comments on here. This is a great comedy from Will Ferrell and John C Reilly. It is slapstick and silly but just what you expect from these two. It isn't supposed to be an accurate portrayal of Sherlock Holmes and I read one comment that read it isn't 'historically accurate'. No it isn't. It isn't meant to be. It's a COMEDY. I would say if you love slapstick and have enjoyed the other films from these guys then go and see it. I found it very funny and entertaining and that's all it's meant to be. |

| I really don't care that the hoi polloi, American Teenagers mostly, will have had no idea whasoevet as to what is going on during this incredibly humerous indulgence in Victorian polysyllabic obfuscation & ancient retro wonderfully British humour! Well done Mr Coen & do not be discombobulated by the awful 3.5 rating on here coz I am giving it a 10 and watching it again immediately after my morning erbal smoking break! LOL but true! : |

| I would begin this review by saying that everything is relative, let's think of abstract art, for example, at first glance you would be temped to say it was painted by a 5 year old child, but because it received the appreciation of some art critics, people have seen this current in a positive light, I think the same thing happened here, people read the negative reviews and the subconscious rated the film as a bad one from start. | I have read so many bad reviews about this movie and it's obvious haters are going to hate.I thought this movie was absolutely hilarious. If you loved Talladega Nights and Step Btothers, then go check it out.Thanks for the laughs Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. I am looking forward to watching it again so I can pick up on the jokes I missed the first time. |

| Reading Reviews for this movie before watching was a very big mistake, going into it thinking it would be a very big disappointment. I was very pleased with the film. The humor was hit or miss in the first 15-20 minutes but after that you'll barley have time to breathe between jokes! Will Ferrell did an amazing job as Sherlock Holmes, as he brings a lot of "stupid humor" and keeps the character of Sherlock not stupid. John C. | I walked into this movie knowing the horrible reviews and have to say, it's funny and I walked away smiling. I actually laughed so hard at one scene that I almost had to leave the theatre as to not be disruptive, that is incredibly rare. John C Reilly is hilarious and underrated, Will Farrell is hilarious but even better when paired with John C Reilly. So, if you want a movie that will just help you forget the real world and make you smile and often laugh, hard...then give this movie a chance. |
