Netflix have really upped their game with their original titles lately, and this film is no exception. The acting is good, the story is relatively original considering how many themes are usually recycled ad nauseum in sci-fi and the special effects were absolutely outstanding. The pace of the film is perfect and there's never a reason to lose interest, especially as our cast delve deeper into the mystery of what's going on and how to deal with it. The tension themes were similar to Darkest Hour & FF:SW insofar as you never quite knew where the threats were going to come from at <more>
any given time, despite the countermeasures in place. Some people have compared the story with those two titles pre-release, and after watching you can see how it could be inspired by them, but only as much as other themes in cinema inspire each other; the story itself is very original. If you like your action with an original story and extremely well- polished, then you'll probably enjoy this.
It was the best low-middle ranged budget movies that I watched recently. Casts were pretty good, but this kind of film, its speed and following more protagonists' happenings not allow them to fly. So their performances were a little bit flat. Camera department brought a high quality spectacle like an Oscar nominated film. Costumes and decoration were absolutely believable and detailed. CGI, SFX and any other FX not were cheap, they were incredibly convincing and expensive. All in all it was a visually perfect movie. It recommended for science-fiction,thriller and action film fans. Didn't learn about this movie till a week before it was released, and based on the previews alone I was thoroughly excited. The preview gave it a "Final Fantasy: Spirits Within" feel to it; however, while watching it with the same expectation I also had a feel to another blockbuster "Aliens." Both movies I loved for my own reason, and felt this movie pulled those reason into one to make this, so two thumbs up.Actors I felt were on point, as well as effects. Probably watch it a few more times with the hopes to dive deeper into the meaning, though I feel I got the <more>
premise on the first viewing.Being prior military, I did like watching their tactics; yet, having never been a Special Forces Operator I'm sure there are aspects that have been Hollywood, but from my own personal experience the stuff I did notice did fall in line to what I have done, so good on them for getting those right. Highly recommend the movie for Combat and Scifi experience. While taking things maybe not intentionally from some older movies, I really felt this was a whole new experience and loved every second of it.
Netflix presents a movie where in beginning it's look that's a Trooper against something Super Natural but as you watch movie whole things clear that is not Super Natural things however it's look like sprite but it's a kinda weapon based on Enistien Theory a weapon like sprite can cross all things like wall etc. but can't cross some barrier like ceramic and iron. well in my region there is a myth that sprite can't cross iron but that is sprite for me however in movie they just name it a weapon but in end when you will see factory of that weapon you will no longer think <more>
it as super natural power movie doesn't look interesting in begin but as you go interest increase and in end it's so interesting that's it IMDb 6.5 and it's available in torrent
In a world where we seem always to be at war with each other, Spectral offers something new. Believable tech, believable soldiers and a freaky enemy combine to make this a great modern day war thriller I was very happy to watch. I was, however, a little concerned that tech seemed to get upgraded faster than a speeding bullet while systems took aeons to charge and be ready for use. The special effects, though, are first-rate and in places, pretty scary, but a lack of gore and bullet-ridden corpses make this watchable without wanting to throw-up every two minutes. All in all, a great <more>
action-packed stand-alone thriller that's definitely worth a watch.
Didn't expect much as I never heard of it before. Then watched it and was blown away. Acting no worse or better than in 90% of box office movies, special effects at least as good or better, plot comparable to any recent sci-fi thriller. As a matter of fact, this movie is better than all Aliens movies except the first two and better than the most recent 4 Star Wars movies, Predator and the latest Independence Day. Netflix should have advertised this movie much more. Also, the story line is something I haven't seen before. I am saying that as someone who has seen pretty much every SciFi <more>
Rock solid; Enjoyable. (by soundmasteraj-clearwavepro)
Loved the performances from the soldiers, their voices were extremely believable; they spoke with clear intent and purpose throughout. The action was well choreographed. I found the sound design to be well done and matched the FX visual and corroborated the story being told. The dialog made good sense, and there was an excellent focus on information being conveyed back and forth throughout the characters' interplay, and for the story itself.I found the revelations and discoveries to be quite interesting, feasible, believable, and relatively congruent with science to be satisfying. The <more>
first film for this individual which relied heavily on "on- the-ground" military action that I felt was non-offensive, nor hyper-stylized...I applaud the film-makers here! Rock solid; Enjoyable.
Very good movie, I would recommend it to others seeking a new science fiction story. The second I saw the cover to this movie I was a bit interested I watched the trailer and was sucked in. I immediately watched the film, and loved it. Great idea for a movie, excellent CGI and special effects, good story though it was a tiny bit too short and I wish we got to see more details of plot lines and more action, but not much more is needed. Also it did not have a plot like most sci-fi movies today, meaning it was unique, immediately eye catching and did not have a plot that was too <more>
"tryhard" or left me lost or confused for half of the movie by putting too many side stories into it. Overall, it was one of the best movies I've seen lately.
The army can't explain these visions of spectral ghostly images there soldiers have been seeing so they call in an expert for clarity. (by tkaine3)
Netflix original movies have been lack luster compared to there original series of shows. Films like Mercy and I am the pretty thing that lives in the house are just not good enough to enjoy and feel like it was worth 2 hours of your life that wasn't wasted. Mercy's story line is too inconsistent with a lot of holes and a terrible ending. While I am the pretty thing never commits enough to a genre to feel any horror or thrill or drama or mystery it's pretty pathetic. But Documentaries like the white helmets or based on a true story films from Netflix like the siege of Jadotville <more>
along with the endless Netflix series and comedy's have been there pillar of home entertainment and well deserved as they showcase an all star line up of episodes you can binge and sink your teeth into. But the original movies have yet to meet those standards Until "Spectral" came along. From the start it keeps you fixated on the story until the final scene which is great I didn't feel my time was fleeting and I could be doing something else with my hour and 48 minutes. With Well known actors, good special effects, action sequences and a story line with enough originality to give it merit makes this a great movie and to my knowledge the best original movie Netflix has released so far. There isn't a whole lot of depth or mystery to this film so speaking about it too much will definitely be a dead giveaway no pun intended. But there's no sex scenes or vulgar language or extreme bloody gore so it's perfect for adults and kids 10yrs. old and up to watch something family friendly but not corny or cheesy which is an alpha male such as myself's biggest fear. Take some time and check this film out you won't be disappointed.
