I just came home from seeing The Bye Bye Man and I must say I was definitely impressed. I was impressed by the directing, the sound and the acting in this movie. I really loved the story too! This movie had you and gripped you from start to finish. It made you want to know who and why the Bye Bye Man was and it played tricks on the audiences minds which was a thrill ride. This movie is definitely worth seeing and is far from boring and it is pretty original and I really loved the opening with the Man going crazy and going after everyone with a gun. Faye Dunaway and Carrie Ann Moss both did <more>
great jobs in their roles too! And the young actors in the film were all amazing. Just go see this movie everyone it's really good!
Real Horror Buff here. These reviews are down right silly. It seems the people reviewing this movie are into horror, but slow annoying horror films where nothing happens, long and drawn out stories, nothing that will make you jump out of your seat. When I read a review from someone that says "this movie sucks" and then compares it to The Haunted Castle, that's not really a comparison. You can't compare movies from yesterday to today. This movie wasn't created for the fans of The Haunted Castle or fans of H.P. Lovercraft's Reanimator. This movies sort of reminds of <more>
the the Ring with no story. The stuff just happens in his movie. There wasn't any time to waste in this film, The Bye Bye Man had an agenda, he was busy scaring the heck out of people. And due to to this, there isn't much of a story and for me that was awesome. This movie is 100% shock value, not bore value. The CG was good and so was the acting. I don't know why people expect Tom Cruse to be in every horror movie, it's not going to happen. If you need a good scare I highly recommend this film. It's much better than crappy Sinister 2 and the Rings.
Don't think it don't say it don't think it don't say it (by colewaters)
Bye Bye Man was a triumph. Every second of it was amazing. I have seen a lot of good movies but this movie takes the cake it was fantastic. I thought it was going to be scary , but it was not and for a horror movie that would hurt it, but for some reason it helped this movie. My favorite line from the movie is Don't think it, don't say it, don't think it, don't say it. There was not a dull moment it was non stop action and thrills and chills it was just fantastic. I wish it would never end but sadly it ended after 96 minutes and that was not long enough for a movie like <more>
this.Parents this movie is rated PG-13 and it defiantly deserved the PG-13 rating because it was intense very intense but very very good. I loved this movie so much that when I get older I may even get a bye bye man tattoo.Don't THINK IT Don't SAY IT Don't THINK IT Don't SAY IT.
I am shocked of the IMDb rate. READ ALL OF IT! (by azanoo)
Just for once my girlfriend and I decided to go to a movie with an IMDb rating this low at the moment 3.5 . For us IMDb is everything, we really trust on the opinion of the crowd. We really love horror and thriller movie's. I can tell you one thing, this movie is GREAT! Once again I am shocked to see the IMDb rating. I think it's bullshit it got rated so low by some *prohibited word on here* who think they are "movie experts" and have nothing to do with their life. I mean what the *what two people do when making love*, "rating movie's" that's not even a <more>
real job. Go *love* yourself. And yes I am mad, because I feel great unfairness against the makers of this movie. They really did a great job! I understand there can be a different in taste. But as hard as I try to be objective: it is still a really good movie. But worst of all; how many good movie's did I skip through the years because of a low IMDb rating...Just because all of this, I took effort to google and find out how to write a review on here to warn you all and yes, it is hard to find the button for writing a review here . Please go to the movie and let me know that I am not the only one and crazy. Please, my life is upside down now. I NEED TO KNOW. ~ don't think it ~ don't say it ~
Way too many bad reviews for an Awesome movie! (by utahman1971)
I hate to say this but I hate PG-13 movies like a passion, but this took me by surprise. I was like slow at first and then woah, it is better than people are saying. I hate people that just because they do not like it, it is the worst movie ever, and not to everyone because of it. People like this are just out of their minds trying to persuade others to not take their own opinions and watching it themselves to find out if it good or not.Yes, as I have said it starts kind of slow, but once it kicks in, it is very fast paced and good. One of the best PG-13 horror movies. I did not notice the F <more>
words that IMDb says it contains in the PG-13 version. I never saw the unrated one. I think they messed it up saying that the PG-13 has 6 F-words in it. I think it is the unrated one has it, and saying that makes me want to buy the unrated one on Blu-Ray.Don't Think It, Don't Say It! Over and over again. Kind of like Candy Man movie, without saying it three or five times to bring the horror. I am the horror buff that loves R and Unrated over PG-13 but this has to one PG-13 movie I would watch if they put it on television. I would buy the Blu-Ray unrated in a heartbeat when I have the money. The bad reviews are just bad people that don't what hit them.I can't stand people that give good movies a bad rap. They need the bad rap about their stupid reviews. So, do not listen to the crap reviews and listen to our great reviews.
This is obviously a great movie compared to average horror movies... (by neonjunglelives)
This is the kind of movie requiring an advent into being sufficiently cultured in things such as mystery and literature. No, it's not your typical, nonsensical, thriller-alike horror fest, even though the cover might suggest such, hence the stereotypically literary acting. An horror movie might differ on the thematic approach behind it, and is not necessarily something meant to be simply "scary" for the so obviously fanatic masses, it might also be the object of curiosity for people interested in the occult, complexion of plots, or stigmas regarding the context in question. all that said... This is obviously a great movie compared to the average horror movie! From the makers of the instant classic Oculus: Devil's Mirror movie, this masterpiece seems to enact once again plot twists worth the wondering. One of the funniest things in this movie is how, the character of another race looks extremely similar to Timbo, from the Oculus movie, adding this movie some extra ironic element and approach into it... However, it's important to beware of the nudity present within the movie and use some discretion regarding it, if necessary...
I just finished watching this movie. I don't understand all the bad reviews I thought it was pretty good. I'm very particular on my horror especially these days. I found it to be rather eerie and a creepy atmosphere. It has a nightmare on elm street kind of vibe but more stranger. It's not a serial killer rip off and far from boring. Perhaps people are just obsessed with the lousy "found footage" atmosphere or the Ouija boards possessions. I thought it was a rather refreshing considering all the other flicks these days. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it I just put it on <more>
for background noise and I thought it was going to be a random crazy fellow killing random people. I highly suggest it I'm shocked about all the bad reviews I'm wondering if we watched the same movie. If you're not the type to listen to bad reviews I say take a chance for it.
So very very terrible - it's actually hilarious (by comps-784-38265)
This film is actually so bad, so really really awful, utterly pathetic, in a strange twisted way it actually, sort of, saves itself albeit unintentionally . First question is how on earth did this film get made ? It is literally so bad it's like a spoof horror of a bad spoof horror doing a spoof of a bad comedy spoof horror. If like me you read the bad reviews, but you have a cineworld card or equivalent i.e. You suffer no financial loss in going to see this. Then go to see this, on the basis it is truly garbage. If you do, it is hysterical, I am actually giving this an 8/10 based on <more>
I suffered no financial loss buying a ticket to see it having a cinema card That I went to see this expecting garbage and it was so bad it was hilarious. If you want a laugh go see it.
This movie was very impressive to me, especially as a starter for horror in the new year. The whole basis of the movie was of the titled Bye Bye Man. A creature, ghost, entity, whatever, is not defined; He is still a horrifying thing. The first half of the movie gets into it very quickly. We get a decent introduction to all the characters, and then right there everything just starts going down. As the movie progressed I was honestly very gripped by it and the overall feel of the movie was amazing. One of the coolest parts of the movie is how the Bye Bye Man not only affects the characters but <more>
the viewer in many ways. I was completely shocked by how well down this movie was honestly. it was a refreshing take on the idea of a boogeyman-type character. Yes this movie may be full of clichés, but hey, that hasn't stopped some movies from becoming amazing. The clichés actually, in my opinion, worked and helped the story line of the movie.I really recommend anyone who's a casual or big horror fan to watch this movie. Don't go into it thinking it's going to be some amazing Nightmare On Elm Street level horror movie. Go into it with a fresh mind and just experience it. You will not regret it.
