I watched the movie over the weekend, on demand. It was awesome. I can't wait to watch it again. I can't tell you my favorite part. No, wait. I think will. My favorite part is where the guys daughter uses the car keys to distract the woman and the two goons, then when she unlock the last car, she runs to it and drives it even though she is fifteen. What I don't get is way did the producers and directors think it was okay to shot the girl, granted she was grazed, but still why. Where's the sense in shooting fifteen year old girl?I repeat AWESOME movie and can't wait to see <more>
Well, I.s not so bad ... even I enjoy the story. (by assistec24)
For a low budget movie, I will say I enjoy the movie. Has adrenaline, has a good story, and lets agree its not perfect but I will give a honest 9 of 10. Even one can read here some aggressive reviews, Its much more logical and better performed then a "Prometeus" lets say or "Battleship", movies with a lot of lot more budget - and much worst then thin one. A movie who receive no publicity and make us to confirm - once more - the "louder" movies are worst. I am sure this movie will receive much more attention then other "famous" producers. I enjoy the <more>
movie. God work. Same for producer. I will recommend this movie because its a decent one.
The Expatriate deserves 9 out of 10 in my opinion. I reluctantly started to watch the film. The first 5 to 10 minutes went by not knowing what to expect. Aaron Eckhart in the lead role. Aaron Eckhart in the Executive Producer list as well. Again, I was not sure where this was going. Soon the story came together. I really started to enjoy this. I think the budget is well spent and well planned. The story digresses only enough to make you connect with the characters better. This is very clever. I realised all this at the end of the film. I guess they should even make a sequel. I guess this kind <more>
of subject matter; namely, espionage, money yada yada, have endless story possibilities for countless number of movies to come.. The pace of this movie is just right. The coherence, story line all connect well keeping you focused on the film. Fantastic entertainment.
Now, I might be prejudiced watching this movie, being Belgian, but this is the first action movie I've seen shot almost entirely in Belgium. In Bruges has shown us a peek at how cinema sees this little country, the Expatriate breaks it open moving from Brussels to Antwerp and back. Regardless the setting however, I found this movie to be very decent, and in its genre, actually well-paced, Aaron Eckhart does a very good job at competing with the likes of Jason Statham within this genre, adding credibility to his character. A good action-thriller that where it may lack in original premise <more>
makes up for in acting, action and a decent ending.A B movie only for being filmed in Brussels, Belgium, and A movie for Aaron's Acting
Who's voting here? What do we ask of an action/thriller? 1. Action 2. Suspense that will keep you interested. Hopefully - this can be done intelligently. To do this with intelligence - and good acting - are bonuses. This Film delivered on all these counts. Post-film/editing sometimes don't find the perfect fit and the camera filters/ video are on the dark side not enough light . Some plot details are muffled along the way but it does not get in the way of the entertainment value. The cast, story, intent and execution - are all there. Emphasis of genre is on "thriller" with <more>
some fairly good, fast action scenes that appear professional/credible. Main actors all performed well. Secondaries performances were... secondary. This film will not disappoint.
Fast paced, exciting, underrated. (by sujanfaster)
The plot summary and trailers might show it as another run off the mill movie, it is. But this doesn't deviate from its track and disappoint you. The plot is thick, logical and if you are a conspiracy lover, you don't want to miss this movie. There is nothing much special in the plot, but the best thing about it is its not too light or complex and handled well. Editing and locations are a highlight. The only thing this could've done with is a more star studded cast. Then it would have been a hit. Eckhart does his best. Watch this if you love fast paced movies. If promoted well <more>
this could've been a hit and I think critics have been harsh on this movie. Its not a masterpiece, but with its limitations its a great movie.
