What a great film (by andismyth) |
Love the zombie genre, and this is a gem of a film, don't know why it didn't get cinema release as I'd have paid to go and watch it.What a refreshing take on the zombie movie, starts off on a bit of a positive note set after the zombies had walked the earth. But they had been contained and one enterprising business woman sets out to capitalise on this and sets up a zombie safari.I enjoyed the acting, the story was good and kept you engaged, and unlike some films I did care what happens to the main cast.If your looking for a zombie film that doesn't bite then look no further <more> |
I was surprised (by colinozz) |
I watched this by accident as I was flicking through movies, boredom. But once I got into it I loved it. Obviously low budget but it gets better as the movie progresses, great twist on the Jurassic Park type story. I recommend you grab some popcorn and watch it................... |
Jurassic Park, but with zombies instead of dinosaurs (by quasar-08909) |
in a market overflowing with zombie movies, it can't be easy for movie studios to come up with new and interesting takes on the genre, but with The Rezort they came up trumpsthe movie zips along at a decent pace with enough zombie action to satisfy most fans of the genre, and the characters are the kind you actually care about for once, with Dougray Scott being the most recognisable out of all the actors present.just in case you were wondering how an island could continue to function with only a finite number of zombies to shoot, this issue is actually dealt with as part of the plot, and <more> |
Was expecting a B film but got A film. (by davidknowles2) |
It be interesting to see why this film never made it to our cinema screens, it appears to be direct to DVD. It not a classic of the genre by any stretch of the imagination but the acting, directing, CGI and many other areas of the film at least match some of the smaller budget films I seen in cinema, think The Purge, Paranormal Activity, Monsters. An it clearly had a budget far bigger than your standard straight to DVD film or syfy productions. I would say if this was produce in the US and was set in a US context, I bet it would have gotten a lot more attention and almost certainly made it <more> |
The Rezort (by Argemaluco) |
The Rezort is a modest British-Belgian-Spanish co-production which deals with the zombie theme from a pretty original and very entertaining point of view, while recovering the social discourse from the classic films directed by George A. Romero keeping proportions, of course . The "zombie safari" concept is disturbing because it could be perfectly possible in real life sure, if we were able to have zombies for real . It's like a human hunt, but justified because they aren't people anymore, but living dead. Regarding the horror, The Rezort is pretty well made, offering <more> |
