I have to say this, I watched this movie not knowing what to expect. I knew I was looking forward to it as I like Miles Teller as an actor, but other than that I did not know what to expect. This movie was not only awesomely funny, but also had a good, if somewhat predictable storyline, however, the steady stream of humor allowed it to soar beyond its tried and tested storyline. I have never seen a movie where even the sex scenes made me laugh, this one did.The movie did not only have great writing, but the performances of Miles Teller and Annaleigh Tipton were in my opinion highlights of the <more>
movie. I would recommend this to anyone who has seen Miles Tellers previous work, anyone that is looking for a romantic comedy that men can enjoy as much or even more than women, and anyone just looking to laugh.
A beautiful, intelligent movie that will leave you in good humour (by sarabjeet-matharu01)
A quaint, intelligent movie with witty conversation and quirky characters that leave you musing about life and the possibilities it holds. Not your standard rom com or whatever the genre is called. It transcends classification, and must be seen as a beautiful movie in itself. The characters are brought to life, almost without you realizing it, the pace and sense of movement and transition don't feel engineered nd moderated. It just...happens. The most natural feeling movie I have ever seen. Watch it. It isn't a movie. It's a real slice of life.
My favourite movie (by maddy_krp)
I LOVED this, so sweet and funny and just a perfect Friday night movie
Lovin' it (by melanieart-40-238663)
I just love this film, it's the perfect romantic comedy to watch when you're in love/single/feeling lonely/your status on facebook is "it's complicated" so pretty much any time. I, a 15 years old girl, am probably not the best person to review a film like this one. But who cares, let me tell you one thing: watch it and discover for yourself how AMAZING and ROMANTIC and CUTE this film is. Also, the actors in this film are great and I don't know what her real name is the girl that plays Vanessa in Gossip Girl add this to your watch-list too, wow GOOD STUFF <more>
EVERYWHERE is real cool, though she didn't get the chance to show off her acting skills.
A very heartwarming romantic movie that i really enjoyed watching! (by ozlemturker)
The relationship between the two main characters felt very genuine and real. It was a funny, romantic and heartwarming movie. Analeigh and Miles have great chemistry together and it was really fun to watch. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes romantic comedies because this is definitely one of the good ones!
Funny, truthful, entertaining (by evan-266)
Very situational, and not for a mature audience, but overall enlightening. And very entertaining. Much laughter.
A very smartly written romantic comedy that I really enjoyed. The dialog is funny and there is a lot of truth to what is said. (by cosmo_tiger)
"You might not be the worst person in the world to be stuck with." Megan Tipton has lost her way. She graduated from college with a degree she doesn't want and spends her days at home doing nothing. When she tries on-line dating she meets Alec Teller and the two meet and share a night together. When she tries to leave in the morning she is surprised by a snowstorm that has forced them to spend more time together. What starts off has two people that hate each other soon grows into something else. This is just a good movie. The writing is witty and funny and the actors have <more>
great chemistry together. The movie is totally predictable and very cookie cutter but that in no way hurts the movie. The younger crowd may like this more than an older one but I am 36 and really enjoyed this and so did my wife. The dialog is funny and there is a lot of truth to what is said. There are some really funny parts in this and I laughed a lot all the way through. Overall, a very smartly written romantic comedy that I really enjoyed. I surprisingly give this an A-.
It's rare enough for anyone to come from reality television and succeed at even being remotely considered as a serious actor, but I've always had a special hope for Analeigh Tipton. For me, she has always had the sort of quirky luminosity that I find captivating. I compare her on-screen presence to actresses like Scarlett Johannson, Chloe Grace Moretz, and even Jennifer Lawrence. Yes, of course, they're beautiful, but not in an easy "perfect" way. Which is precisely what makes their on-screen presence so interesting.Yet, I've generally found Ms. Tipton to be <more>
disappointingly less than convincing as an actress. Or more generously, I've always felt that she was still getting her bearings, searching for the proper vehicle.Until now. I believe with Two Night Stand, Analeigh Tipton has come into her own as an actress -- I found her highly believable, enchanting to watch, and adorable which is, of course, exactly what the character calls for .It helps, of course, that she's paired here with Miles Teller, who's really coming on strong Whiplash! . Together, they pull off the rather difficult feat of carrying this film's situation : Two relative strangers, stuck together in an apartment. Yes, the film cuts occasionally to the roommate character for a bit of relief, but for the most part, the action is all about the interaction between these two characters -- and these two actors.I won't comment much on the film itself -- it's a rom-com after all, and this one won't break any new ground. I found the dialog interesting, engaging for what it is: A lot of youth-speak, loaded with millennial preoccupations interesting to me as an older viewer . I believe Ms. Tipton and Mr. Teller deserves a lot of credit for keeping things light, and Ms. Tipton did a masterful job of reading, and translating her character, adding just the right touches of flippancy and youthful awkwardness to achieve the goal of every rom-com: Make us want the protagonists to have their inevitable happy ending.
Lightweight fluff - I liked it! (by teachermarkthailand)
Analeigh Tipton, Miles Tiller and a crackling script help elevate this 90 minuter. Analeigh Tipton is just delicious to look at and Miles Miller comes across as a thoroughly nice chap. There's nothing original or new to see here and some of the plot turns are a bit contrived. But nonetheless it works. The movie doesn't have the gravitas of Notting Hill, or the 'touchy feely' dreck of Music and Lyrics. It's a small town date movie for small town folk. The peripheral characters supporting the two leads are almost invisible and are barely worth mentioning.... apart from Samuel <more>
Ray Gates who plays a cop. Why isn't this guy more famous? It doesn't get deep or heavy, there's not too much gloom when things go wrong... it's a fluffy teen flick that this 55 year old male enjoyed. If you get drained by the overly emotional garbage that usually accompanies American 'romcom' type movies, this one will surprise you in a good way.
