| The story isn't very original but I had a great pleasure following the hero's tribulations. Danny was simply excellent and a perfect fit for the role. You can feel how much weight life did put on his shoulders but he kept somewhat a gentle heart. First his love then Vietnam then nobody wanted to hire him then his mother died, life really didn't spare him but he kept his dignity. The violent death of his only friend he knew from Vietnam was too much to take and that makes sense and I felt sorry for him. | Just watched the film, not expecting anything as it was one of those titles that I did not find interesting looking at the title or reading the reviews. In fact I thought it might just be a bad movie based on everything I read, but a friend suggested it so I gave it a chance, and what I saw was downright amazing. The movie is very well done and I found myself quickly cheering for this old man who got the title of BadAss after beating up some punk kids who thought they could just push people around and get what they want on the bus. | The only actor I am a fan of is Ron and the priest at the funeral. The movie is not bad for someone that is bored. haha. nevertheless, it was entertaining. Who doesn't want a hero in their neighborhood that beats the sh*t out of asshole's without a gun s . I say a classic movie of not using guns, but the power of will and fist. You all do not see that anymore in movies, except sissified crap. It is not like he went on a shooting rampage in a theater. Good movie, despite some review here. | The beginning of the movie was pretty dull. The Mexican themed music and random screen shakes really threw me off and I expected a badly produced movie. This is a perfect example of why you shouldn't "judge a book by it's cover". After Danny narrates his story an action packed scene by a senior citizen quickly made up, for what seemed to be a harsh start.Throughout the movie there are various action packed scenes, but that's not entirely why I enjoyed this movie. | No, "Bad Ass" won't win any Oscars, but it is a thoroughly entertaining action comedy thriller. Many are comparing "Bad Ass" with "Gran Torino" and "Harry Brown." It wouldn't surprise me if director Craig Moss produced this as a knock-off movie, but "Bad Ass" is more fun than either aforementioned movie. | I don't really care where the idea came from, this film was a lot of laughs. Imagine Danny Trejo doing his old and tough routine, but doing it with humour and a physicality that few could achieve aged 68. And it wasn't just him. Ron Perlman did a bait and switch again, appearing only a few scenes into the movie, instead the role of the villain being taken by Charles S. Dutton, who also appears only a few times, but it is obvious he is having just as much fun as Trejo did. | I really enjoyed this film, it was almost a caricature of an action movie. Done with a brilliant subtle sense of humor.He goes from zero to hero, gets the girl, investigates crime scenes including cheese chalk out line and kicks some serious ass, in a way that we all wish we could but is of course impossible. | This film has gotten a ridiculous uproar due to the changing of the plot. In the film, a Hispanic American protects a black American from 2 white Americans. In real life, a white American protected himself from a black American.People call the change politically correct. These people are all wrong. The real reason for the change is so that the film wouldn't be called racist for everything that happened after.The remainder of the film has Danny Trejo beating up mostly black and Hispanic gang members.
