Great movie ! The trailer doesn't give it credit (by kevinjohnston182)
The movie start off a little bit cheesy and trys to skip the intro and go straight to the action. But as the movie goes on you will get sucked into it and you will wonder to yourself were did the time go. The concept of being able to do anything and have no consequences positive or negative is just so captivating and they do a good job of keep the suspenses up.If your into slow movie that take hours to get to the point then this is not for you, if anything the paste is a bit to fast.Still i was so captivated by this movie that i half to give it a 10/10. I wasn't bored at all.
The Ultimate Movie Review! - http://tss5078.blogspot.com - @tss5078 (by Tss5078)
The ninth step in recovery is apologizing to all those you've hurt with your drug addiction. When three members of a rehab group fail to complete this step, they are met with a strange consequence. For them, the day they were supposed to complete the ninth step keeps repeating. Movies like Repeaters, are why I watch independent films. I'd never heard of the film, the cast, or the Director, and in fact, this movie isn't even available in the U.S. I saw it as one of my suggestions on Netflix streaming and figured, what do I have to lose? What I found was on of the smartest, most <more>
original stories in years. Repeaters isn't just a weird science fiction movie or a drama about addiction, it's both, and it's a whole lot more. Fusing elements of action, drama, and science fiction, Repeaters will have you on the edge of seat craving for more. Words can not express how well written this film was and how it will give you a full range of emotion in just ninety minutes. As for the cast, I'd never heard of any of them, but they were terrific, especially Richard de Klerk, who played the most deranged member of their little group. He really connected all the elements, showing a range that most actors today can't even dream of attaining. Repeaters is a tremendously written roller coaster ride of emotion, with some outstanding performances, and stunning conclusions, and for that it gets labeled as one of our can't miss movies!
This movie is captivating, but more from a psychological stance than in terms of nitty gritty action and is in essence about amends. Three recovering addicts in a rehab facility re-live the day they are supposed to make amends again and again. It's not easy to understand what happens in recovery from addictions and this is a psychological portrait of how people deal when faced with confronting their own demons and taking responsibility for their actions. If you like to think about psychology- you'll enjoy this movie. If you want easy-on-the-eyes- and-and-brains entertainment then maybe <more>
Three young people re-live the same 24 hour day, repeatedly (by MikesFilmTalk)
What would you do if you had a chance to relive just one day over and over? Try to change your destiny? Change the world? Change your life? In a 24 hour rewind you wouldn't think that there would be a huge opportunity to change very much. Three "twenty-somethings" find out just how life changing a repeated second chance is in this brilliant little film from Canada.Written by Arne Olsen Relic Hunter, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and directed by Carl Bessai Severed, Normal Repeaters is the story of three inmates of a drug rehabilitation centre in Mission City. Kyle <more>
Halstead Dustin Milligan , Sonia Logan Amanda Crew and Michael Weeks Richard De Clerk all hang out together and one event filled day they become caught in a time warp that results in them re-living that day repeatedly. The combination of great story-line and great performances by the lead actors made this spontaneous purchase of an 8 pound DVD turn into a real gem of a film. The publicity/marketing for the film states that the film is like Taken meets Groundhog Day. Now that sounds good, but in my humble opinion the film is more like Groundhog Day meets Flatliners. My only real problem with the film was the lead actors resemblance's to other actors and in one case to one of my first cousins. The most obvious one was Amanda Crew who looked so much like Jennifer Love Hewitt that I kept wondering how she'd managed to look so young. Obviously the film makers saw this resemblance as they never lost an opportunity to put a knit hat on her head that enhanced the likeness.Still, resemblances aside, the actors did a magnificent job in the film. The three of them interacted with each other and other characters in the film, brilliantly. The best thing about the film, was their evolving feelings about the repetitious day. Denial, acceptance, enjoyment, disillusionment. and realisation. Unfortunately, the two male characters had more of a story arch than the female lead, but despite the slight annoyance of this fact the film still delivered a pretty impressive punch. There is not a whole lot of information available on this 2010 Canadian independent film, but they do still have a website: Repeaters. If you get a chance, check this film out. This is the third Canadian film to completely blow me away and it's left me with a growing admiration for my "first cousins" and their creative ability.A real 5 star film about a supernatural event that will blow you away.
A real good watch........Great ending to. (by suissenavy)
Just saw this and thought I would give it a review as it entertained me. There is a lot of hardcore scenes due to one characters O.T.T. maniac tendencies. It really is enjoyable and reaches full speed at an admirable pace. I won't bother re-rewriting the plot synopsis posted with the film, just tell you that you can expect all the same rules as the Bill Murray film about the same situation, just here we see a more sinister side to the event. We also have three very troubled people trying to figure out why this is happening to them, on this day. The climax is cool and don't turn your <more>
head too soon when you see the first credits role.OK?

Mike.During the night, there is a storm and Kyle, Sonia and Mike have electrical shocks and on the next morning, they awaken on the same day. When they realize that the Wednesday is repeating over and over again, their first reaction is to have fun with dangerous situations. Soon Kyle and Sonia disclose secrets and they decide to use the days to resolve personal issues mending their lives. But Mike decides to route through a criminal life believing that on the next morning, everything would be over.A couple of months ago, I started watching "Repeaters" on DVD with family and friends at home and we decided to stop. Today I have just watched alone and despite the old storyline of many other movies, I found a great story of redemption of youths that have the chance to rethink their lives and mend their lives. Unfortunately there is an awful twist in the last scene that I prefer to ignore. The question is, what would the writer and the director be thinking including such stupid last scene? A sequel? My vote is eight.Title Brazil : "Labirinto do Tempo" "Time Labyrinth"
Yes, it is impossible to talk about Repeaters without mentioning Groundhog Day - a charming family film where a sardonic Bill Murray has to relive the same dull day again and again until he can find a way of somehow - literally - moving his life forwards.Groundhog Day was a happy-go-lucky sort of affair, filled with light-hearted 'what if' scenarios. Here, in 'Repeaters,' we're presented with a similar premise, i.e. what happens if you're stuck in a day. However, the results are far from Groundhog-like.This time there are three central characters who keep reliving the <more>
same day and they're all in a recovery centre, trying to get over various addictions. Then, once they discover their new 'power,' they hardly use it to help the homeless. Therefore we're treated to what people with very dubious morals would do if their day had absolutely no consequences whatsoever. It's a great film. The performances are perfect from all characters, the setting it suitably gritty and it's not too long. However, it's not one for the faint-hearted. It covers pretty much all the nastiest adult themes you can think of, so, if you're looking for a 'feel-good' kind of movie, you better steer clear.Bottom line: Groundhog Day + comedy Groundhog Day. Groundhog Day + action Source Code, whereas Groundhog Day and nastiness Repeaters. Not one for everyone, but if you're looking for some gritty sci-fi/thriller, definitely give this one a go.
